We are both licensed acupuncturists in the State of North Carolina. Our practice is located in Durham, NC. We received our Master of Acupuncture degrees in 1996 from Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle, Washington where we were trained extensively in both Chinese and Japanese acupuncture.
John and I have researched medicinal herbs and nutrients extensively to find the best quality botanicals and nutrients available. We feel it is not only important to have formulas which are put together well but also to have formulas which have excellent track records in terms of safety and efficacy.
Of course, later, I realized that I had done a bit too much (I also cleaned the condo when I returned to the beach) But, I cannot thank you enough. It was close to miraculous, for me. You will definitely be seeing me again soon. Barbara Connor has given me a life worth living! I have been a client of Barbara's for almost ten years.

The combination of acupuncture and cranio sacral work is extremely powerful. Barbara has an amazing gift for being able to feel and release restrictions in the body to provide permanent relief. I had tried traditional Chinese acupuncture without much success. Then upon recommendation from a friend, I found Compassionate Acupuncture and Healing Arts in Durham. I've been seeing Barbara for many years now. Her cranio-sacral approach has provided me significant relief of back, neck, and shoulder pain. I highly recommend Compassionate Acupuncture for anyone suffering from chronic pain issues!

Fantastic acupuncture and craniosacral work! I have been seeing 38+ doctors for my TMJD for 13+ years, and Barbara and John are the best that I have found! I've been seeing them for four years --- even coming from out of town to get treatments (before I moved here). I feel a difference in my whole body immediately after a session and at least a week afterwards (if not longer)!
This is much longer than other doctor's treatments in just acupuncture, chiropractic work, and other body work. These treatments treat the head, neck, should, and back pain that can occur. Both Barbara and John are warm, kind, and genuinely care about their patients and their work. They also are amazing at herbs and highly skilled at helping their patients who have a wide variety of ailments. Highly recommend them! Also, if you are a Duke student, theses treatments qualify for 75% out-of-network, after your deductible is fulfilled via Duke's insurance :D
