I just had a wonderful hot stone massage by Chrissy and they were amazing! They were attentive and focused and I'm always very "wimpy" when it comes to my message preferences but they listened and delivered in a beautiful way! I feel pampered and refreshed and grateful and would highly recommend their services. I easily booked a massage with Jessica on the online platform. I was feeling a lot of tension and aches in the left side of my body from holding my 1 year old baby. So this was such a nice treat.

This review is long overdue. Last December I slept on the worlds softest mattress throughout a holiday visit to my MIL's home; it was way too smushy for me and I must have slept in a convoluted origami crane shape because by the time I returned to SF I was a pretzel woman with limited mobility in my neck; sharp relentless pain in my right shoulder (which kept riding up toward my ear); and muscle spasms in my upper back that left me in constant discomfort.
After nearly two weeks of warm showers, gentle stretching, mild muscle relaxers and Advil, I made an appointment for a massage at East-West. It was my first visit to the practice, and I chose it because it had decent reviews, it appeared to be a legitimate massage practice and not spa cosplay (lots of fragrant oils and a lackluster back rub), and it was close to home.
I spoke with Chrissy before my massage began and we reviewed where it hurt and what kind of discomfort I was experiencing. The massage was perfection, and focused on the spasms in my back but also worked out the stiffness in my neck and the acute pain in my shoulder. Chrissy was patient and attentive, and worked through the tightness and knots. After the massage, they showed me a few new stretches to help ease me back to full mobility--I especially appreciated this.
I felt about 75% better as I left the office that afternoon but the real miracle was that the next morning, I was nearly fully restored! I kept doing the stretches Chrissy showed me, and over the course of the next two days or so, I felt everything just ease up and slide into place. Sweet relief! I will definitely return, and would definitely recommend.

I was getting acupuncture from Tyler in Noe Valley. I noticed at times, he wouldn't always wipe the area where he was putting the needle with an alcohol swab. Last Wednesday, I went into my weekly appointment and I noticed that he was sticking a needle near a scar I have on the right side of my chest. The next day I woke up with pain in that area.
Throughout the day it became big, very red and painful. I called my nurse advice line and they said it was an abscess from bacteria entering underneath the skin during acupuncture. I have to sit all day at urgent care tomorrow so I can get antibiotics for this wound. I don't think this was done intentionally, but it was negligence on Tyler's part. I will not be returning to that place.

I just had my second massage at East-West in Bernal Heights and I really love the calming surroundings inside the classic San Francisco building. My massage therapist (for many years) Chris Robertson, is such a friendly and caring guy. He's the main reason I came to East-West. His massages are truly healing and help me deal with back pain, loss of flexibility and the stresses of life. Chris is also pretty strong!
The massage room I have been in was beautifully appointed, clean and filled with natural light. I really prefer a space like this over an antiseptic spa salon. I definitely recommend!

I easily booked a massage with Jessica on the online platform. I was feeling a lot of tension and aches in the left side of my body from holding my 1 year old baby. So this was such a nice treat. Jessica focused on my shoulders, neck, and lower back with great pressure. I can't wait to return for my next session

Extremely friendly staff, clean environment, and attentive therapists. I had to go for a TMJ massage and the owner personally helped me find the best therapist for the job. The massage I got was stellar. Everything I hoped it would be, focusing on problem areas rather than "checking all the boxes" that some massages do. Can not wait to go back.

I receive acupuncture service here from Shannon. She's the best in my book. From our 1st meeting she listened to all my issues. I have chronic pain & nerve damage and I try any type of Eastern medicine that alleviates my pain. They also perform massage, cupping and all types of alternative medicine teas and techniques. I've been to 2 offices the one on Chenery & Courtland. I really enjoy the Courtland office because after the appt there are coffee shops & food and the community & people are very nice.
