Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an integrated healing philosophy. It is the oldest professional, continually-practiced, literate medicine in the world. Central to TCM are the concepts of Qi, or energy flow, and Yin/Yang. Yin and Yang are the balance of forces throughout all of nature and in the human body; a simple example is heat and cold.
No one is a stranger to pain. We all experience it from time to time though most everyone tries to avoid it like the plague. Medically speaking, pain is a feeling triggered in the nervous system due to some trauma, injury or illness. It may be sharp or dull, off-and-on or steady, localized (such as back pain) or all over (such as muscle aches from the flu).
After a long, cold and gloomy winter, everyone looks forward to spring. Everyone that is, except those with allergies and unfortunately, those with allergies make up nearly one third of the population of our country. For some, the misery starts early in the spring with the release of prolific pollen from a variety of trees.
According to theory of Chinese medicine, fat tissue is from excess dampness lodged in the skin and muscle. There are several ways to eliminate this dampness from the body. July 2017 I have suffered from arthritis for many years. I have had 2 back surgeries and both hips replaced to help me find pain relief and mobility. I needed more relief from pain and did not want to face another surgery on my back or look at knee replacement. I thought it was worth a try to go for an acupuncture treatment. My first consultation a treatment were in May of this year. I had pain relief almost immediately. I continued 10 more treatments with additional appointments until the present time. It has helped me greatly and I will continue with the treatments as long as I need them. Rona and her staff have been kind and considerate on every visit. Came in mainly for gallbladder pain after spending a month and a LOT of money going back and forth with my GP and getting nowhere. Within 3 visits, the pain was gone, as was the nausea and vomiting, leaving just a faint tightness in my side. After spending all of my free time for a month resting, with these treatments, I was able to go on vacation and drift 35 miles down the North Platte River in a pontoon boat for three days with little discomfort. Back in March of 2011 I had a nasty fall resulting in major back pain. I have utilized physical therapy, Chiropractic and physician-instigated interventions. All produced limited results. I found Rona through recommendation from a co-worker and made an appointment. Since my first visit, I began to experience reduction of my nearly constant pain. Her acupuncture treatments have substantially reduced and stabilized my pain levels, which allows me to function in nearly all areas of my life. It was amazing to have my normal life back. Rona is professional, competent and listens well. I am highly recommending her and the incredible acupuncture.
