We take a comprehensive, holistic approach to the body's health. By integrating alternative therapies with traditional medicine and coupling it with personalized solutions, we are able to deliver extraordinary results for true health and wellness. At The Center, health is regarded not as a mere absence of disease, but as a positive vitality: a balance of mind, body, and spirit.
Here, we treat the person with the illness, rather than treating the disease itself, and treatment is true partnership, rather than a dictatorship.

In 1983, the founder Dr. Nellie Grose, through a personal journey, realized her vision for a new kind of practice. Patients would become healthier through an extraordinary integration of traditional medical treatment and complementary therapies. Hence, The Center for Health and Healing was born. In 2020, Dr. Grose merged her practice with Dr. Miiko Rowley's thriving practice to embrace continued growth within the health and wellness industry.
We are deeply grateful to her for pioneering Functional Medicine in Houston in the early 1980's as a lone wolf when the path was not clear. She has transformed the lives of so many patients in our community and paved the way for a new era of Functional Medicine providers like Dr. Rowley and Ms. Bassett.

Holistic medicine is an integrative practice of medicine in which the focus of care is the whole person. The goal is to achieve optimal health and well-being for the mind, body, and spirit through a combination of complementary therapies and traditional medicine. Holistic Medicine emphasizes prevention, patient participation, and personal responsibility, thus fostering a partnership between the physicians and the patient.
