Welcome to Yoga & Friends, a place that can provide you with the tools to enhance your physical and mental well-being. Yoga & Friends offers you healthy choices to live in a state of integrated harmony with yourself and with the universe. It is designed to help a wide spectrum of dedicated students from 8 years old to 80+ years old achieve a healthier body- mind posture in their daily life. The principles of alignment of Sridaiva have elegant simplicity, which can be applied in every posture to create an optimal body- mind template.
Owner of Yoga & Friends, Christina began her Yoga training in 1995 with Alice Percy-Strauss (owner and creator of the In-Tu-It Yoga system and the Yogatzu Institute) she received her 1st certification in 2000. Also in the year 2000, Christina took her 1st Anusara workshop with John Friend, huge inspiration for 250+ hours of training in the Anusara style of Yoga.
Students register at the time they attend their first class, so plan on arriving at least 10 minutes before start time. Students choose a payment plan and pay either before or after their first class in the plan they have chosen. What should I wear to class? Students should wear comfortable clothing to yoga class.

I've been going to Yoga & Friends for 2 years now! My yoga practice has expanded beyond belief. Christina's love of yoga shines through in all of her classes. As yoga evolves, so does Christina, keeping with tradition with an eye on what works for the betterment of her students. All of the yoga instructors are knowledgeable and friendly as well! Yoga & friends is a happy studio, located in an urban setting, downtown Kenosha. Perfect for getting coffee, breakfast or lunch after class and only two blocks to Lake Michigan for a lovely walk along the picturesque harbor front.

The Yoga and Friends studio presents a therapeutic non-threatening peaceful environment. The owner, Christina Ptak, highly talented instructor bases her classes on the needs of the students, providing one-to-one personal assistance to all levels. The last 7 years, I come from Arizona to Kenosha and work with her, as I feel she is a one-in-a-million person as well as instructor, constantly learning, attending advanced training.
She is an educator, giving her students life-long tools to keep mind and body in balance. She motivates and inspires no matter the age or health issues. I am a 71 year young lady who does not know the age number even though I have degenerative sclerosis and osteoarthritis. Because of her positive and lasting influence on my mind-body, I perform my athletic activities at a higher level than most younger people, and without medication.
I thank God daily for Christina's touching my life enabling me to lead a joyful life. Christina's teaching skills are the best. Any teacher could learn from watching her. My being a retired teacher, I appreciate this gift. She grew up teaching, sharing her love and compassion with each student. Believing in her students, she instills belief in them to believe in themselves.
She never stops teaching during her classes, continually watching each one. With a slight touch of her hand, I have moved myself to a healthier pose. I feel her caring energy daily, giving me needed self-confidence. YOGA PRACTICE=STRONG MINDS, STRONG BODIES! I appreciate leaving yoga energized, but calm, and feeling good about myself. THANK YOU, CHRISTINA! Marsha S.

I just finished my first of many sessions to come at this Yoga & Friends. They moved from this listed location to 6th avenue, updates are on their website. I took a class with Christine, who really knows her stuff! After spending time in the more trendy yoga studios around Chicagoland before moving back up here (i.e. Corepower), I'm glad to find one that seems committed in its core yoga practice without all the commercialized nonsense.
The studio is clean, quiet and serene, and they offer mats, blocks, ropes and chairs for whatever practice is taking place. The music selection is well chosen and really compliments the practice (I didn't hear Enya once, which was a great sign). They offer classes in the AM & PM (the AM was full when I attended, which was also a good sign). Prices are more than reasonable, and classes are appropriate for all practice levels. Looking forward to practicing with this studio in the future! Namaste.
