Many conditions can be treated successfully with this unique system of medicine. Our treatment protocols include acupuncture, dry needling, trigger points, infrared heat therapy to improve circulation, and Chinese herbal formulas to promote deeper healing. In order to achieve optimum results, you need an acupuncturist that can explain what they are doing and why!
Practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese medicine have used this noninvasive treatment method to help millions of people become well and stay well. Acupuncture promotes natural healing. It can enhance recuperative power and immunity, support physical and emotional health, and improve overall function and well-being.
According to Chinese medical theory, the symptoms and signs that indicate a Western diagnosis of allergies relate to imbalances in the meridian and Organ Systems of the body. These imbalances may stem from a variety of causes, including stress, poor diet, constitutional weakness, pollutants and environmental toxins.
Acupuncture has been employed as a health care modality for over 5,000 years. Modern science has begun to understand the secrets of this ancient medicine with the support of new studies conducted by leading scientists, hospitals and medical research facilities from all over the world. Today, acupuncture is receiving wide acceptance as a respected, valid and effective form of health care. In a systematic review published by Spine Journal, acupuncture has been shown to have significantly favorable effects on chronic low back pain.
Gathering this information enables the practitioner to effectively diagnose and detect any specific imbalances of Qi that may have contributed to a persons health problems. The practitioner can then create a well-structured treatment plan. Once the imbalances of Qi are detected, an acupuncturist will place fine, sterile needles at specific acupoints along meridian pathways.

I lead an active lifestyle, between outdoor pursuits, training, working on my feet, and being an involved daddy for a 4 year old. Lots of aches and pains associated with all those things, and this acupuncture practice has facilitated healing of all those including diminishing my stress levels. I would recommend this practice to anyone.

I initially started going to Alpine Acupuncture during my fertility journey (which was successful!). Along the way I found that Carleton was able to help me better manage my sleep issues and occasional anxiety. I would and do recommend this practice to anyone looking for Acupuncture or looking to manage a variety of ailments or concerns. I couldn't be more pleased with the results and the trust I've found in this practice!

I had been suffering from lateral epicondylitis ("tennis" elbow, from snowmobiling) for nearly a year when I started seeing Carlton. It was somewhat improved from work with a physical therapist and at home exercises/treatment but it was not getting any better and still very painful and limiting. I saw Carlton 10 times after which there was SIGNIFICANT improvement in the condition.
Since then it has continued to heal and become less and less painful. Four months since my first appointment with Carlton I am nearly pain free and have full use of the arm again. I definitely attribute this to Carlton's experience and skill as I witnessed first hand his ability to place needles in such a way as to block the pain entirely during treatment.
Overall I found treatments to be very relaxing and comfortable. Their exam rooms have heated tables, music playing and ambient lighting. Carlton and Katja are wonderful people and run a great business. I had zero.zero issues during my time there and always had an easy time with scheduling and payments.

I first saw Carleton for an acute and quite serious soft tissue knee injury. Thanks to his treatments, my recovery went smoothly and quickly. Since then, he has treated me for cold and respiratory congestion. Again, my body healed quite quickly. I have used acupuncture for years and understand how practitioner-dependent it is. I cannot say enough about Carlton's treatment and use of various techniques to address the issue at hand. Also, he is never rushed and runs on-time.
He genuinely knows his patients and is a keen listener who seeks to understand the whole patient. I also suffered from low iron and was working with another physician taking iron IVs, when Carlton suggested a Chinese herb that I cannot spell--- it worked quickly and my iron levels are better. Thank you, doctor!

I went to see Carleton just to 'try' acupuncture awhile back and now. Carleton and acupuncture have become my version of self care. When I go in we talk about what's going on in my life emotionally, mentally and/or physically and then Carleton adjusts accordingly. I lie there, totally zen and leave ready to face whatever I've been stressed about, with a healthier attitude and more at peace.

Dr. M is amazing. Acupuncture is practitioner-dependent and he delivers. He treated me for a Serious soft tissue injury and I had a speedy recovery. He has a true gift for understanding what one's body needs. Nothing short of an incredible healing journey. He is quite personable and takes the time and energy to get to know each patient. His office runs like a Swiss train- very punctual, no waiting around or delays. And his appointments are 60 minutes- true healing can take place. I recommend Alpine Acupuncture without hesitation.

I started seeing Carlton in 2013 and immediately found a dramatic reduction in pain for a chronic shoulder condition. Alpine acupuncture is now part of my regular routine for maintenance and I can feel the difference (in a bad way) if I go too long between visits. Over the years Carlton has helped address other acute problems that have come up. His massage experience is another bonus and he can release tight muscle knots with dry needling in seconds. Highly recommended!

Alpine Acupuncture is amazing! I first went to see Carleton a couple of years ago because I was dealing with tendinitis in my elbow. After seeing a doctor and was told that the only thing that would help was a cortisone shot! I decided to seek another way to help my aching elbow. I decided to give acupuncture a try. Carleton was super knowledgable and explained the process and how it was going to work.
After a couple of visits I was brand new, and my elbow has never felt better. I was back to my old bad golf swing again! Unfortunately Carleton couldn't fix that part, but a good golf swing has been a work in progress for years! I still see Carleton for my autoimmune condition and he's a miracle worker, besides I've never slept so good in a place that's not my own bed!
I would reccomend Alpine Acupuncture to anyone in need of relief from pain and discomfort of many different things. I also think Acupuncture is great even if you use need to get 'centered'!

I noticed my PMS symptoms had changed. I was much more tired, cramping to the point of vomiting, all over emotions and foggy brain. A co-worker and friends of mine suggested Acupuncture. I have gone in the past for digestive issues and found it rewarding. Carleton was very knowledgeable. He explained the science behind the process. In matter of three months I really saw a decrease in my PMS symptoms. I'm still going to continue to go as part of my self care regimen. Thank you Carleton.

I have been seeing Carleton for about a year now to treat Antibiotic toxicity from a dose of Levaquin. After my first treatment I regained my appetite for the first time in a week. Since then he has been able to help with many of my ever-changing symptoms including anxiety, depression, neuropathy, sinus issues, stiff muscles, etc. He also spends extra time with me to dry needle my many trigger points. Would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in improving their health naturally.

I had neck and shoulder pain for 8 months! A doctor even suggested surgery. Thanks to Carleton's treatment, I didn't need to go that route. Alpine acupuncture led me to recover. I also tried a different highly-rated acupuncture place - Alpine Acupuncture is way more effective on me. I recommend his service without reservation. He is professional, caring, and truly want patient to get well.

I have never had acupuncture before, but after my 3rd baby was born, I had a nagging numbness and pain in my fingers that wouldn't go away. My doctor said it would go away in time but that wasn't good enough for me as I am on the computer most of my day and the tingling with each tap on the keyboard was driving me nuts. I decided to try acupuncture and met with Carlton.
He took time to understand my story and took great care of me. After 2 treatments, my numbness was completely gone! I hope I never have a reason to go back but he will be my first stop for sure if I'm ever in pain again. I'm a believer now!

I saw all the amazing reviews of Carlton on Yelp so I went to him enthusiastically with several issues, including IBS. He assured me that he could treat it no problem so I did an hour of acupuncture. The weekend following my Thursday appointment I noticed I had a great many more flareups than before. I brought it up to our Monday sessions where Carlton asked a few questions but said it was too long after our Thursday session for it to be related.
That monday session he did the needles plus a heat lamp above my stomach to I guess help but nothing was communicated to me. The days after that appointment were terrible. I had to take a Lyft home from my office in downtown back to the east side because I was in so much pain. It was absolutely terrible. I dealt with increasing worse and worse pain for 2 weeks until I went to the ER.
The Dr did a CT scan and blood work and didn't find anything of note. Took steroids to help with the spasms and got to a very basic diet to try and reset my body. Why is this two stars? I understand that with acupuncture you can get worse before you got better but nothing was ever explained to me that this would be the case (I had to look it up myself) and my ailments were discarded as being not related. Is it possible that my issues occurred outside the treatment I was receiving? Absolutely. I just think the timing is extremely convenient, if not logical, to tie some sort of causation to what I was receiving at Alpine.

Carleton is great to work with & has helped to reduce the stress and tension in my shoulders and neck, along with the frequency and duration of my migraines. He is very knowledgeable about Chinese medicine and herbs, which has been extremely helpful in the treatment process. Would definitely recommend Alpine Acupuncture to anyone!

Carleton was responsive to initial inquiries and helpful in gaining a first appointment. My symptoms of back pain and not sleeping well due to pregnancy were alleviated upon the first treatment and have continued to improve after the second and third! I had tried acupuncture in the past and saw ok results, I believe his method is working.

Alpine Acupuncture treated me for my severe allergies. They took my severe and debilitating allergies and made them bearable if not unnoticeable! Acupuncture is a relatively pain free experience and most times very relaxing for me and I get to have a nice nap during treatment. i always want to tell people who cant find allergy relief to look into acupuncture. and if you live in the Seattle Eastside go to Alpine Acupuncture.

After suffering with high anxiety, stress, neck tension, and panic attacks for over 10 plus years, I went to Carleton for help. Because I had these symptoms for so long, I knew that patience would be a key with this treatment. Gradually, all of my symptoms have disappeared or are practically gone. Today, I see Carleton once a month to maintain a healthy balance. I would highly recommend Carleton.
