In case you haven't heard the news, our dear co-founder, Jill Cummings, will be leaving us at the end of September. She and her family are moving to Pittsburgh, PA, where her husband has accepted a new job. Yogawood is infused with Jill's spirit and enthusiasm and if you've taken class with her through the years, you've certainly benefited from her humor, wisdom, and great adjustments!

This studio was one of the nicest studios I've ever been to. When you walk into it you're greeted with an amazing smell of mint through an air diffuser that sets the zen right away. The yoga mats were Lululemon brand, weights, balls, gliders, etc. we're all clean and in good condition. The class I took was a barre class. The instructor was very nice and welcoming.
I thought there were some good moves, and perhaps because it was my first class and I was trying to learn I missed some things but I did not feel like it was that hard. I felt as if there was as more conversation going on rather than the fast past exercises I've previously experienced in barre classes. I was not totally turned off however I was a bit disappointed with the class. I would like to come back and give it another shot as I did think the studio was great!

I took a class tonight so I'm basing this review on my first experience. But definitely not my last. I LOVED IT! Perfect speed and unconventional music. I didn't get bored or annoyed like I do at other yoga studios. It was fun, not work. I highly recommend checking this place out. I'll see you there!

A yoga studio more concerned with capitalism than dharma. I purchased a 10 class card & then shortly thereafter moved 100 miles away from the area. When I returned a year later to visit family, I took a class only to be told that my sessions were no longer good. I wrote multiple emails stating that I didn't want a refund, I just wanted to be able to take the classes that I had purchased. Still, they refused to honor them and kept my money.
They told me this policy is "clearly stated on the class card." There is no class card. I handed them my credit card, and they processed the classes into their computer. I am extremely disappointed in the greed demonstrated by this studio, and I won't be back.

I truly love Yogawood. It's pure yoga. Some of their teachers are really high level: Christy, Erik, Marie, Tracy. They have a great class schedule especially now that they finally added Wed & Fri lunch time classes (you wouldn't believe how many studios don't offer afternoons!). Great energy in the rooms and affordable pricing. It's the best!

Impressed with Yogawood. They have moved their location further east on Haddon Avenue over a year and a half ago. Vibrant lime green colored entrance and front of the building with a glass encased front. Upon entering inside of the yoga studio, there is a cubbie to place personal items as is well as additional area in the glass encased area front area to hang coats and place personal items.
There is a front room and back room of the studio for classes. Early in the morning you hear lots less street noise from passing cars however as the day progresses it takes more work to center yourself and meditate to block out the distracting sounds. Yogawood has a website that you can view the schedule, pricing retreats, etc. You can establish an account and purchases classes online which makes attending class very simple by just giving them you name and the instructor just clicks to mark you present and that's it. An array of yoga classes for the beginner to the more seasoned and there are classes everyday of the week; early morning and late evening. AWESOME!

Yogawood gave me yoga! I now teach at the studio but I remain a student first. The community focus is connecting & uplifting, classes elevate my body & mind equally, & I continue to grow! There are a range of classes. Jivamukti & vinyasa classes are powerful, gentle classes are stretchier, & yin deeply meditative. In addition to classes there are a multitude of ways to deepen studies & experience from workshops to retreats. I'm so grateful for this place & the amazing people who make it what it is!

This is a really great place to advance your yoga practice. All of the teachers have very distinct styles and really know what they are doing. They give great advice and adjustments. This place is also very community-based and it seems as if all of Collingswood is doing their teacher training here! This is now my "home" studio and I don't think its going to change anytime soon. In an ideal world, I would lower the cost of monthly passes, keep the studio a little "cozier", and offer more classes. But hey, who wouldn't want that?

I needed a different type of yoga practice so I found a jivamukti class offered here. I knew his place had been in collingswood for awhile so I knew I would be in for a treat. Beth was very welcoming and gave great assists. They offer various props from blocks and blankets to eye pillows. The two rows face one another in the small room, and that only enhanced the feeling of community for me.
The new student special is unlimited practice for 2 weeks for 30 dollars which is a great deal. They offer other vinyasa classes, family yoga and workshops. Will definitely be back

Great Yoga studio. Great atmosphere and I even love the floor here! It's like a big solid piece of polished wood, it somehow makes you feel in tune with the earth when you are on it. I've taken the Free Meditation class on Thursdays at 10:30, and Gentle Yoga with Stephanie at 11:15. Stephanie is an angel and I wish she taught more classes! This class is great for beginners, great if you have a lot on your mind and you need to let go. At my first class, another woman told me that Stephanie is a "warm, gentle soul" and that's why her class is popular, and it's totes true!

I never went to their old location, I have only ever had classes in this new spot. To my understanding, they were renting in the old spot and when this building opened up, the owners grabbed it. It is one of only two places that I know of that offers a 6pm Sunday night class. My weekends are for working out and there is nothing that I enjoy as much as wrapping up my weekend with a yoga class. Gentle Yoga with Marie on Sunday nights is a very slow paced, calm and meditative flow.
Do not expect a hot, fast vinyasa. This is not a work out class as much as it is a stretching class with a little bit of balance. It is a very pleasant way to wrap up the weekend especially if you play hard on Saturday & Sunday. Marie is warm, friendly and all of the locals seem to know her very well. She is a lovely woman and I'm very grateful that her classes are offered at that time slot.
The studio itself has gone through a real transformation. When I started coming here it was a gutted building - freezing cold, drafty and that's pretty much it. Today, it is a beautiful space with murals, art work and a variety of other things to occupy the eyes. Yogawood is a reasonably priced & charming addition to downtown Collingswood. It is the dead of winter and I have never had a single issue finding parking on the street directly in front of the studio. We will see what that looks like in the summer when there are more people out and about - but for now, it is easily accessible and greatly appreciated. Namaste.

My experience at Yogawood has been sublime, extraordinary, incredible. From the group of supportive, nurturing & knowledgable teachers, to the inviting atmosphere, each time I go to class, it only gets better. I highly recommend Yogawood to those who are beginners to the advanced yogis. It truly welcomes & nourishes all who enter.
