I've been dealing with a frozen shoulder for 6 months. I had a steroid shot a month ago with no relief. I took a chance on Cornerstone based on a review and boy am I glad I did. Peggy walked in and had such calming energy. She did cupping on my back and while I was in tremendous pain while it was happening (not her fault, my back is just that bad) I feel relief today for the first time in months!
The whole experience was insane in the best way. As she was doing the cupping my sinuses completely opened up ( a random bonus) and my body was fully tingling. I will be back, she is a healer!

I am a skeptic of acupuncture because it never worked for me in the past. After months of enduring pain in my wrist and hand, and exhausting every other possible approach to heal it, I visited and met Annie. In one session Annie managed to alleviate some of the pain, but because I damaged it as bad as I have, she was unable to completely solve the problem.
What I did to my hand and wrist couldn't possibly have a single session miracle cure, she did come damn close to it though. AND, she managed to make me a believer in acupuncture, I will go back for a follow up for sure. Highly recommended

Annie has fixed me on numerous occasions, and every client I have sent her way has come back with nothing but praise. She is knowledgeable, thorough, and is able to find issues to address in every session, Highly recommended as someone in the health and wellness industry, that has tried many other practitioners in the past.

Dr Peggy and everyone who works here are so lovely. The rooms are very clean and have beautiful soft lighting and smell nice too. There are heated beds & heat lamps available and calm, soft music. Dr Peggy has helped me in so many ways using acupuncture and has an amazing bedside manner. Totally recommend 100%.

I've been going for acupuncture treatment with Peggy for two years off and on to boost energy, reduce stress and address symptoms of asthma and ezcema. If I don't go, I definitely feel out of sync! The office is well maintained and has some wonderful candles and cards. Peggy is a knowledgeable and thoughtful professional. I recommend her and Cornerstone Healing without reservation.

I see Dr Anne Mok for acupuncture on a weekly basis and couldn't recommend Cornerstone Healing more. They're always accommodating with scheduling appointments. Dr Mok's technical expertise and holistic advice has helped me get on a path of health, losing weight and watching what foods I put in my body.

I went here over the summer for cupping for hip and back joint pain. This rating is a the middle score between the location versus the practitioner because my experience there was very uneven. The location itself gets five stars. Easy to reach location amongst several subway lines. Beautiful, airy and sparkling clean space with soft lighting and whatever candle they were burning smelled amazing.
Large bathroom and wide hallways and there plenty of places to sit in the waiting room which is helpful for those who chronic pain or mobility issues (very easy to maneuver). The receptionist was very warm. I was shocked however at how cold and unfriendly my practitioner was. She came in and was very abrupt, cut me short while I was explaining my history with this pain, criticized my exercise method and basically seemed like she was in a rush.
She placed the cups on me and they did not feel tight at all and after a while I got stressed, worried that one would even fall off. As someone who gets cupped often I was not a fan. She never came back to check on me, not once, and then at the end came and pulled off the cups. She gave me no follow up advice or anything. I did feel a little better, mostly from laying quietly in a peaceful space but honestly it was an underwhelming experience.
Since then I have gone cupping at other places and have had way better results. Only other odd thing was that I was told it would be $40 when I called over the phone to schedule but was charged $60 at the end.

A wonderful experience. Prompt and professional service where you are treated with care and concern. The atmosphere is wonderfully calm. It's a sanctuary in Brooklyn where the stress level is awful. I receive acupuncture from Dr. Peggy. She is a true blessing. I highly recommend Cornerstone Healing.

Dr. Mike has helped me tremendously. I suffered from low back pain for the past 10 years and he has found a solution that has relived my pain almost completely. Besides that he is also very accommodating and kind. He is genuinely interested in listening and helping to heal his patients. The office staff is so nice and it smells amazing when you walk it.

I've been coming to Cornerstone Healing since it's inception. Dr Peggy is amazing - she does a really thoughtful intake, considering both the physiological and mental state of the patient each time. She healed my TMJ, helped me through my pregnancy, helped me manage my sciatica and daily stress. I would highly recommend Cornerstone for anyone looking for naturalistic ways to heal.

Jay is fantastic! Not only did he give me an excellent massage, but he spent a good 20 minutes afterward talking about how my lifestyle and my anxiety were creating bodily tension and what things I could do daily or weekly to help improve it. If I need a massage again I will definitely come back here.

I see Annie for acupuncture/cupping I've had a wonderful experience. I've been struggling with insomnia and anxiety and I feel her treatments, along with the herbal pills she's given me, have made a huge difference. Also, the rub down/neck cracking she does at the end of every session is amaaaaaazing.

It's going on three years I've seen Maria and she's grown to be one of my favorite people I've met in life hands down. Not only does she create magic each time she touches my brows, we have the best of conversations. Time literally flies when's she's doing my brows. The music selection is always bomb. The conversations, funny & relatable.
The room always smells like peace- like if peace and relaxation and carefree had a smell, it's in her room. Then most importantly, can't stress this enough my brows are point blank the best thing on my face. They honestly don't get enough credit from people. I literally get offended when people don't notice and say something about my brows, it's rude.
I kid. Although, a little down the left ventricle I do get slightly offended because my brows, in my opinion, are the best thing this month. God bless you Maria. And you yelpers out there, wondering about if you can find a review for Maria on here. This is it. Go. You'll love it. Invest in yourself. Treat yourself. 5/5 10/10 do it. Lol

This review is for Maria Brito! Excellent eyebrow shaping. She'll be my new go-to moving forward. She's patient and highly skilled -- my appointment lasted about half an hour (when was the last time you had a 30 minute brow appoint?)! She's not in a rush to get a ton of clients in and out. She truly cares about the end result. As an fyi, her schedule is limited -- she's only at this location Wednesday and Saturday. She's in NYC on Mondays.

I wanted to love Cornerstone. I really did. I loved the people I met there and enjoyed their personalities. However, I've had acupuncture many times in the past and have never left in significantly more pain than I walked in with. I suffer from lower back pain from 3 herniated discs as well as pretty severe sciatica. Desperate for relief, I reached out after reading the positive reviews and was thrilled they could fit me in same day.
The place is clean, relaxing and I found the receptionist to be courteous and lovely. This wasn't my first time having acupuncture so I wasn't nervous in the least. However, in retrospect, I wish Anne had explained to me what to expect as she does several things quite differently from what I've experienced in the past. Generally, when I've had acupuncture, the practitioner would place the needles in places that were linked to the affected area but weren't ON the directly affected area itself.
For my back and sciatica problems, that meant I have usually had needles in the arm opposite the problem leg and various other parts including feet, head/forehead, and hands. Anne went directly for the sciatic nerve. This may just be a different approach but I wasn't expecting it and it was quite uncomfortable. If she'd given me some warning, it would have been better. Secondly, when she removed the needles, she began kneading the area and was pretty rough! Again, not a huge issue in and of itself but I wasn't expecting it and would have expected some notice of "here's what you can expect." There's a lot to be said for setting expectations.
When she was done, I was in a lot of pain and asked her if it would be ok to get a massage. When she said absolutely, I proceeded to meet the massage therapist, who was absolutely lovely. Under normal circumstances, it may have been a great massage. But unfortunately, I don't know because by the time I left this overall experience, I was in so much pain I couldn't put my shoes on and walking was challenging.
Instead of feeling relaxed and relieved, I was eager to leave and take some pain meds. It's now several hours later and I've tried a tens unit and an epsom salt bath for relief but can't find any! :

I've been coming to Cornerstone for over a year and Dr. Mok has changed my life. With my monthly acupuncture visits, she has tackled many of my issues with much love and care. She always asks how I currently am and what needs to be tackled or tweaked. The office is tranquil, clean and run efficiently. I cannot recommend Dr. Mok and her practice enough. My insurance also covers much of the cost, so look into that before you make an appointment.

Dr Peggy Regis Robinson is a terrific acupuncturist and true healer. She has been able to help me with fatigue, skin problems, arthritis, and anxiety. I have been to many acupuncturists over the years, and I would certainly recommend Peggy. I am particularly impressed with how she has helped my skin, because many acupuncturists have not been able to help. The office is comfortable and reasonably priced for great care. Peggy is immensely skilled, professional, and kind. I feel grateful!

I went to Cornerstone Healing because it was a short walk from my job and I was in vital need of a massage to start off the New Year. Wanting to treat myself to some relaxation, I made an appointment with Erin Smith for a massage. For a first impression, the interior of Cornerstone is very cool and relaxing, even the reception area has a tranquil feel to it.
My massage practioner Erin was very skilled and knowledgable. She inquired in detail about my back and spinal issues and was thorough in her questions. It wasn't rushed and Erin seemed like she really wanted to get to the root of my problem and figure out an appropriate treatment. The room in which I received my massage was beautiful. It was luxurious and definitely the best room I had ever had a treatment in.
It even smelled relaxing! Erin was very thorough in asking me questions pertaining to my back pain and spinal issues. My massage was wonderful, and a great way to begin the New Year! My neck pain was alleviated and my posture improved. I plan on coming back here and I would definitely recommend Cornerstone to friends and family.

For my first review of 2014, it's fitting that I'm hyping the place that has helped transform me into a new woman! I came here after struggling with chronic back pain and beginning an acupuncture regimen at the Brooklyn Acupuncture Project, located nearby in Gowanus. Though I LOVE what the BAP is doing for my community, and especially for the insurance-deprived, I am fortunate enough to receive insurance coverage (and thus similar prices) at Cornerstone, so I go there.
For those that are considering acupuncture and are looking at both, here's the breakdown: At BAP, I may receive treatment from a different practitioner each time, in a not-so-private-room -- and though I don't necessarily mind stripping down to my skivvies behind a sheet, the snoring from the guy next to me can sometimes harsh my zen. Meanwhile, at Cornerstone, I get a cush private room, a fierce back-cracking and a nearly-lethal massage from the talented Anne Mok every time I go.
Most importantly, I receive really interesting information and lots of compassion from Anne each time, which have expanded my awareness of my body and mind in ways I had not experienced before my back injury. Thus, I would highly recommend her for acupuncture newbies, as she will freely offer up information that's well-grounded in medical expertise, helping you to prevent and understand your pain, not just temporarily relieve it.
And when you've got an injury that's likely standing between you and the previous happy-go-lucky life you led before the injury came along, that kind of empowerment alone is worth the trip, even without the insurance discount. But seriously, if your insurance covers this place, GO. Even if you're just in need of a "tune-up, " a stop-in with Anne to straighten yourself out is a great idea for anyone who works at a computer, takes the train, slogs around with a big bag. which probably describes you, eh?

I came here after having terrible issues with a strained nerve on my spine - it's a bit of a chronic problem that comes up every year or so and the doctor just says to stretch it out and take pain killers. So, not really wanting to take pain killers I decided to give Acupuncture a try. Peggy worked on me for 6 sessions and she is amazing. Seriously worked magic on my neck.
The first sessions were hard since I was in such pain but with the acupuncture and massage it loosened up. Over the next sessions I felt better and better. What was so great about Peggy was that she could tell exactly where the pain was coming from without me having to tell her and worked that area and other areas of my body that had correlation to the pain (I think they are called channels). Peggy also didn't push me to see her a lot - I would have come every other day if she told me to but she would say "wait a week and then make another appointment".
She has the touch and runs the facility in between a beautiful spa and a high end doctors office. Highly recommend for massage, acupuncture and probably anything else they provide. They are the real deal.

I am so happy with my treatments at Cornerstone, Peggy has been a pleasure to work with :) I was doubtful about acupuncture as a treatment and I am still new (I have done about 4 treatments) however I must say i do feel alot of energy moving while I am in my treatment so i am excited to see the results. The space is relaxing and modern, they have high standards and it shows, very clean and the music, decor and lighting really lull me to sleep, so even though i am needle sensitive, I relax quite well!

Cornerstone Healing in Carroll Gardens is an amazing place of healing. They offer Acupuncture, Bodywork and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The environment is very warm, relaxing and immaculately clean. Peggy Regis is extremely talented and has provided me with a great amount of care and attention during my visits. While some places tend to get you in, then get you out as fast as they can, Cornerstone Healing actually cares about your wellbeing and takes their time when treating you. Peggy has made every effort to educate me in the different processes and instruments she is using. I truly recommend Cornerstone Healing to anybody who is going to have an acupuncture treatment done. http://www.cornerstonehealing.net/index.html
