I have had problems with my hips since college, and have seen many physical therapists and chiropractors over the past 30 years. Recently I began to have numbness in both my hands and legs, and since my father and grandfather both struggle with neuropathy, I became worried that my future mobility was in jeopardy. When I googled my symptoms I came across an article on piriformis syndrome written by Dr. Nicolas Campos.
Even though I live a bit far from his office, I decided it was worth the drive to see him. I'm so glad I did! Not only has his program of adjustments, stretches and exercises, and orthotics given me relief from my pain and numbness in both my arms and legs, I have better posture, have changed the way I walk, and look more fit and feel more confident.
I guess it's no coincidence that the weak areas of my body were also the areas I wished looked better, too. Over the past few months of treatment, I have grown to really like Dr. Nick as a person as well as a doctor. I would like to address the comments where he was described as "weird". Dr Nick is intensely passionate about helping people. I can see how to some people, at first meeting, this might put them off.
But give him a chance! He is caring, kind, intuitive, and a really great guy. And his approach to treatment will get at the root cause of your pain and give you the tools you need to keep yourself healthy and strong on your own. I am glad he is honest and upfront about needing to commit to a program in order to heal. This is not about getting your money any more than when a doctor prescribes a certain number of physical therapy sessions after surgery.
I have been to chiropractors who crack you a few times and send you on your way. Dr Nick's approach is more intensive, takes more time and effort on your part and his, and is totally worth it as it actually changes your body and your life.

It's been one year since I've taken a personal course with Dr. Campos. My initial reason for contact was his profession in men's sexual health and how the spine plays a role. Dr. Campos provided skillful suggestions on healthy communication with men and clients to make intentional positive outcomes. Personally, he has shown me how to stay focused during the "valley" times. Dr. Campos, everything you taught us in the one full beautiful day was worth it. I need a follow up session and look forward to seeing you soon.

I love Dr. Campos! I came to him with a long-standing shoulder injury (having seen 5 different specialists from varying medical disciplines, over the past 2 years, to treat this issue), and am finally feeling like I'm well underway to complete recovery. I came to him after googling some of my symptoms and diagnoses (shoulder impingement, rotator cuff syndrome), and found an article he had written about shoulder impingement and how (and why) commonly it is mistreated.
He sat and listened to my entire history (and beyond that, has used those past details to better address my current treatment), and I think his strength comes from having a vast amount of different education and knowledge/experience (i.e., what I get from him combines things from physical therapy, chiropractic, and an extensive knowledge of the body and body work).
Because of this, I feel he's able to give a holistic, well-rounded assessment and resulting treatment (as opposed to the problem-solution binary thinking that is unfortunately so common in the western medical world). I am extremely grateful to him.

I was diagnosed with piriformis syndrome in my left leg about 4 weeks ago and I was in EXTREME pain, along with numbness in the upper half of my foot. I found Dr. Campos on Yelp and he had such great reviews that I decided to see him and I am so glad that I did! He was very nice and extremely knowledgeable and has a true passion for what he does! He took time to diagnose my whole body- not just the pain area and treated me based on his assessment. I can say that after just 3 visits, I am pain-free! And, my foot numbness is greatly reduced. I highly recommend Dr. Nick Campos

I'm 6'6 & 260lbs and finding a chiropractor that will listen and truly take the time to figure out what is wrong and also have the strength needed to adjust someone my size is a must. Nick is the real deal. The first chiropractor to ask me to walk and then immediately saw it was my feet, which explained the way my shoes would burn tread on one spot.
After an amazing heat treatment & what I would call sports massage his adjustments (which have been impossible for some to do) gave me an immediate relief to ALL pain. I went from a 30% range of motion to 90% in ONE session. I'm so glad I found Nick and hope to be coming to him for years to come.

While I think Dr. Campos is most likely a skilled chiropractor, I was put off by 2 things: (1) no requirement for Xrays to evaluate the patient's vertebrae and (2) after cancelling an appointment very suddenly to accommodate a different appointment with the patient's primary care physician, Dr. Campos stated he would not be able to help us in the future.
He did wish us the best of luck, but I was put off by the any doctor stating he would not be able to help a potential patient. Not due to a lack of skill-set or due to complexity of diagnosis, but because I called and cancelled an appointment with less than an hour's notice. It is certainly his prerogative as a business owner to refuse clients and customers and I do not begrudge him that right at all.
I think it was the abruptness of his response (I understand why he was most likely annoyed) and this notion that the business meant more than the care. Granted, I may be absolutely naive as I don't run my own business and work for a large conglomeration. And I'm sure this abruptness on his part was reflective of annoyance and a curt attitude he's had to hone over the years with patients who have completely flaked out on him. Perhaps, he needs to make sure he has the patient's credit card number on file prior to making any appointments so he can charge a fee for any last minute cancellations (less than 24 hours), but give the patient the option to remain in his care and still get the help they need as it does seem Dr Campos is a good doctor based on other reviews I've found on the Internet.

Dr Campos is a great doctor, extremely thorough and answered all my questions. I came to him experiencing what I thought was shin splints. With a thorough examine and conversation about my past sports injuries we deduced that I was most likely having some type of nerve pinching, not shin splints and furthermore I am an extreme pronator. After a couple session and a pair of custom orthopedics I am as good as new! Would highly recommend Dr Campos to anyone experiencing any kind of sports injury!

I've received chiropractic care off and on for more than twenty-five years, and am well-seasoned about chiropractors, styles (they can vary widely), and the range of relief that's available. after having experienced some not very skillful chiropractors many years ago, I really decided to stick with one (in Santa Cruz, where I'm mostly based) because I trust his adjustments, intuition and skill. we've developed a strong bond over about 20 years of treatment. since I've been spending about half-time in LA, now, I really needed to find another chiropractor and was in a quandary -- would it be possible to find anyone I trust as much as my 20-year chiro in the Cruz? AMAZINGLY enough, the answer is a resounding YES! Dr. Nick Campos is one of the best I've ever encountered -- heartful, intuitive, committed to providing excellent care, super-helpful, good-humored and ridiculously knowledgeable. the icing on the cake is that the variety of chiropractic technique that he uses is the IDENTICAL style my chiro in Santa Cruz uses! I'm amazed and grateful, and delighted to put my aching bones in the hands of a great chiropractor like Nick.

I had the worst experience with Dr. Campos. First of all, I noticed he was a bit weird in the beginning but I kept seeing him after an accident I suffered because I just wanted to get better. As time went on, I realized more and more that he was simply after money and more money. I honestly never wanted to see a Chiropractor but i knew I needed some sort of therapy to get back to normal.
The guy would add many things into every appointment and add "dont worry about this now, I will just add it to your bill." I constantly got little comments like this and would try to turn away any other expenses but he would insist otherwise "you would not get better." I found a much better chiropractor that not only works better but knows how to communicate with people. Dr. Campos is just an odd person and really began to scare me. BEWARE of this guy.

First off, my husband moved here from Boston and tried 6 or 7 chiropractors before staying with Dr. Nick. He is very particular about his care for an injury and future preventative measures, and found Dr Campos by far to be the best fit. But we wanted to make sure and tell you and let you know that the few sessions that we had with our daughter have done wonders.
It was probably only on the fringe of our minds to bring in our three month old for chiropractic care, but we had seen a post that Dr Campos had about another 3 month old that had a stiff neck and possible flattening of the head due to sleeping on one side really hit a chord. Anyway, our daughter, who had similar symptoms, is now quite mobile with her neck to both sides and favors neither.
She has definitely gotten stronger since our visits and generally seems much happier since we stopped having to constantly reposition her head. We are very happy we decided to bring her in and are grateful that the Dr. were able to help. Sincerely, visit Dr. Campos if you are considering chiropractic care for yourself or a loved one.

What a scam. And a Weird guy to boot. His office secretary was AMAZING! So sweet and I really thought that I was going to find the perfect Doctor for my foot. Then he nicely examined and adjusted me on the first visit. Said I need to come back for the results. So I did, and when I came back he said everything he had said on the first visit and then wanted to me to commit to an 8 week regiment that was going to cost me $1000.
I asked him if he could give me some stretches to do in the meantime and he said I wasn't ready to get that information. "It's a program" he kept saying. I left the appointment early. I NEVER say a mean word about anyone, I am easy to please when it comes to customer service and doctors, ect - this guy wants your money and is a scam artist. It sucks that people like him are allowed to call themselves Doctors. There is my 2 cents.
