This is an Iyengar studio. Alignment is important here. The teachers are all trained really well and care about their students. Your abilities and goals are important here. If you want heat, speed you won't find it here. If you want correct form, Sanskrit references/names of asanas, quiet concentration and relaxation, this could be the place for you.

I'm not totally sure how to phrase this without coming off the wrong way, but if you are under the age of 60, this studio is not for you. I bought the 10 class groupon thinking it would be a fun, lively East Sac yoga studio. I was looking for something more reasonably priced than the other yoga studios around here, & the groupon was a fantastic deal.
I went to my first class yesterday which was supposed to be Levels 1-3 yoga. which usually means it's good for both beginners & others who have practiced before. In the past, when I went to another studio for a level 1-3 class, it was great for beginners but also you were able to improvise & do more advanced poses if you knew what you were doing.
I remember being sore & felt like I had a really great workout. However, yesterday, the Levels 1-3 yoga class was more like Level 0. I'm definitely no crazy yogi & would consider myself a beginner, but the entire class was pretty much spent laying down & stretching. I expected there to be a younger crowd, but I was the youngest here by about 40 years. I'm sure this studio is excellent for those who are 60+ & brand new to yoga, but from the point of view of someone in their 20s who is looking for an actual Levels 1-3 class, I was super disappointed.

After a number of changes in my life including moving, changing jobs, traveling for work and major abdominal surgery, I was literally looking for a 'yoga solution' when I came upon the website. Because I was so out of practice and shape, I enrolled in the level 1 and then in the level 2 courses. This place is awesome, especially if you are not 25 and into competitive yoga.
I prefer to sweat on a spin bike, not on a yoga mat. The environment is warm and welcoming and Jennifer is just a wonderful, caring and funny person. This is a different style than I have been used to, a little slower, more gentle and without music and quite interactive. And while I may look around for something a little more challenging from time to time, I truly feel I have found my 'yoga home'.
I believe that yoga is the best solution to maintaining a healthy body as we age. The Yoga Solution supports that belief whole heartedly. I recently attended Diane's 9:00 am class and it was great too. So, if you want the full mind body spirit of yoga and you don't want to slip on someone else's sweat while you are trying to find your zen, try out the Yoga Solution. You won't be disappointed! I think there may be teacher training in my future.

The level 1-3 class was more like a level 0. I wouldn't recommend it if you've ever done any yoga before and are comfortable with at least a downward dog. The instructor was patronizing toward me--I'm assuming because I was one of the only people under age 50 in the class. I told her I've done yoga before but I'm not incredibly experienced (apparently that means vastly different things depending on where you go--by that I meant I can't do something like a crow or a headstand without assistance), and she ended up treating me with kid gloves and had the most anal freakout when I did an inversion with a support chair that she did not approve of.
I had told her that I have scoliosis and when she had her freakout she said, "I don't want her doing this, especially because her back is weak." Having scoliosis does not mean your back is weak.

You will feel welcome and comfortable here. I used a Groupon and was introduced to this amazing studio. I recommend taking a class with Jennifer for at least your first one. All the instructors are very welcoming, but Jennifer has the experience and the eye. I've taken my mother here, who can be quite a handful. This is going to be non-competitive, slow paced, yoga. No one is showing off. In fact, the most exceptional students in Jennifer's class are almost always other instructors. THIS is where you want to be introduced to yoga.

First time taking a yoga class last night. Jennifer was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout the class. I never once felt like I stood out because of my lack of experience. I liked that Jennifer was very hands on with adjustments to assist you in achieving the correct pose. I came in with a free pass for one week that I found online. Not only did Jennifer honor it, but she extended it for another week. Overall, my first yoga experience was a positive one. I look forward to attending more classes at this location.

Please note: yoga solution has a new location on Elvas.visit their website for exact location. This place is wonderful, especially if you are looking for alignment focused yoga to heal your body! Iyengar yoga is amazing for back pain and overall wellness. I don't know why this studio doesn't have more reviews?! I just moved to sac and I was thrilled to find a real iyengar studio with extremely knowledgeable teachers!

I've taken yoga from Jennifer several times (first when she taught out of the Turn Verein building and now here at the Yoga Solution). This little yoga studio is a hidden gem in East Sacramento. The classes are not overcrowded and the teachers are all excellent. They sincerely care about your experience and will show you how to adjust yourself properly.
If you need to go easy on certain poses, they'll give you options. If you like a little more challenge, they'll show you how to go deeper into the pose. They offer classes in a variety of styles, as well. If you're thinking about trying them out, check their website for the new-client special (I think it's 10 classes for $15 or $20). Overall, this studio has a very relaxed, nonjudgmental vibe and very dedicated yogis.

The Yoga Solution is the Premier Yoga Studio in Sacramento. I drive from El Dorado County for her workshops as she brings in many nationally known yoga luminaries such as Judith Lasater, Donald Moyer and Gary Kraftsow. How lucky we are to have this resource in the yoga community. These workshops are attended by many teachers (like myself) as well as students. Jennifer Sadugor is an incredible yoga therapist and teacher who is finely attuned to the needs of her students and has the skill and experience to adjust yoga practices for every person's needs.

When I first began yoga, I was concerned about finding a place where I would feel comfortable and confidant of an environment devoted to well-being (both physical & spiritual); plus, I'm not real "bendy" so that's an added challenge. Lucky me to have found The Yoga Solution! Jennifer (the owner) knows her stuff & takes the time to get to know her students; she is wonderful at tailoring the yoga practice individually to accommodate any physical limitations a student may have. It's all about what works for each person in the practice. And, because I haven't been practicing yoga all that long, I sometimes find it hard to know what a particular pose should feel like when done correctly; Jennifer's way of describing how a pose should feel is spot-on & really helps me get it right. I always enjoy my practice at The Yoga Solution~hope you do too!
