According to Chinese Medical theory, human beings have a natural flow of energy, or Qi (pronounced "chee"), throughout the body. Good health of body and mind depends on the smooth flow of Qi circulating in energy pathways called meridians. Pain and disease occur when there is imbalance, deficiency or blockage of the energy.
Cindy E. Levitz, L.Ac., Dipl OM, C.SMA has been in private practice in NYC since 1996. She specializes in treating all types of Acute and Chronic Pain, Stress and Anxiety Reduction and Women's Health Issues. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is also a specialty. Years ago, Cindy developed a debilitating inner ear problem which caused severe dizziness.
Acupuncture is effective, comfortable and non-invasive treatment for many different kinds of pain. When there is pain, there is no free flow. When there is free flow there is no pain. This is an axiom which describes the mechanism of pain as viewed in Chinese medicine and acupuncture. By releasing the blockages through acupuncture, the free flow of energy (Qi) is restored, blood flow is increased, muscles are relaxed and pain reduced or eliminated. As a practitioner, Cindy knows that your emotions can impact your physical health and that the reverse is also true.

Cindy is simply AMAZING! You will be hard pressed to find a more skilled acupuncturist or a healthcare provider more committed to your over all well-being! Cindy has successfully relieved me of issues with everything from total body arthritic joint pain, chronic insomnia, down to the common cold. I highly recommend her!

I am an athletic thirty-three year old woman, recovering from a debilitating injury that occurred seventeen years ago. Since my injury, I've been to dozens of acupuncturists-in Boulder, Colorado, Northampton, Massachusetts, London, and New York City. Most recently, I started seeing Cindy E. Levitz, L.Ac., here, in the city. My initial visit to Cindy was a gift from my husband.

I hadn't sought her out and I knew nothing about her. So when I went to my appointment, I had no expectations or preconceived ideas. However, from my past experience, I knew what to look for. How was Cindy's bedside-manner? Soothing.trustworthy. How was her needling technique? Flawless: gentle and confident. With the needles in place, I drifted off into that warm, soupy acupuncture lala land that-to me-is a telltale sign of good work.

But what surprised me was that, at the end of the treatment, after removing all of the needles, Cindy gave me a brief neck and shoulder massage that brought me back into my body, leaving me aware of how great I felt and aware to the outside world, as well. Her treatment prepared me to fully feel and appreciate the rest of my busy day.

Acupuncture was the last treatment I had in mind for my shoulder and neck work related injuries. I had tried months of Physical Therapy, and Cortisone treatments offered by my Orthopedist- to no avail. A trusted client/friend suggested I try Acupuncture and Cindy Levitz her practitioner. Cindy has worked a small miracle with my neck and shoulder, as I am now pain free. I have come to understand alternative medical treatments as a lifestyle choice, and I'm thankful everyday for Cindy's professional guidance and passionate expertise.

Cindy has helped me deal with a wide range of disparate issues, from stress to simple broken bones to major post surgical rehabs. Most recently, she has been assisting me through rotator cuff issues. My physical therapist at HSS was wowed by the degree of additional flexibility and muscle relaxation apparent in my shoulder and neck when I had an appointment with her two days after Cindy treated me. Cindy is a truly caring and knowledgeable healer.

Cindy has really helped me keep chronic neck pain in check. I sometimes lose my voice when I have a cold and she's helped me get my voice back in time for some very important presentations (and the colds leave quickly, too). Just a few months ago, I had shingles and she was a key component in my healing in a very short time. Whatever the problem, Cindy is a healer.

I have been going for acupuncture for years as part of my own health plan. I find myself relaxed and very comfortable in her room- if I feel I am coming down with a cold or not feeling right, a trip to see Cindy always makes me feel better! My back experiences pain from time to time and within a visit or two of treatment I feel the positive results of Cindy's work.

Cindy is AMAZING! I was having lower back pain and I was very nervous about having acupuncture done. Cindy was very calming. She answered all of my questions and, after seeing her just five times, I am no longer in pain and look forward to my sessions.
