The Oregon Society of Clinical Hypnosis (OSCH) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities for qualified health and mental health care professionals desiring to learn hypnosis. We are a component section of The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), the largest U.S. organization for health and mental health care professionals using clinical hypnosis. We have been involved in hypnosis training and education dating back to 1956 when the society originally began as the Portland Academy of Hypnosis.
Services
OSCH is composed of licensed health care professionals who use hypnosis in their clinical practice. We promote the use of hypnosis through education, certification, and professional development. OSCH membership shall be available to health care professionals including dentists, physicians, psychologists, clinical social workers, counselors, and nurses at the masters' or doctoral degree level, and other qualified health care providers. All Health care professionals in OSCH shall be licensed by their respective state regulatory agency or board.
As a professional community we encourage cooperation among members of diverse professional and scientific disciplines with regard to the ethical clinical use of hypnosis. We promote excellence in the use of hypnosis by qualified health and mental health care professionals to advance appreciation of scientific research, education and standards and to educate others about the value, applications and ethical use of hypnosis.
The Oregon Society of Clinical Hypnosis or OSCH is a professional organization for health care providers who share the desire to promote ethical use of clinical hypnosis. OSCH offers education, consultation and support to health care providers in the safe, effective, and ethical use of clinical hypnosis.
There are many applications for clinical hypnosis. A common question we hear is: Does hypnosis really work? Our answer is absolutely. That may or may not be very convincing. We can provide a variety of references and research articles to provide information on the efficacy of clinical hypnosis. We are happy to do so if that is what is beneficial to you.
