Allergies can manifest as runny eyes, drippy nose, sneezing, itching, rashes or general malaise. Allergies can be inherited or develop over time due to over exposure to a substance - sometimes when the body is in an otherwise compromised condition (either physically ill or emotionally upset). There is frequently a threshold below which the body does not react - but once the threshold is reached, there is a hyper sensitivity to stimuli that might otherwise not be noticed.Oriental Medicine can help your body build a new response to the negative stimuli by strengthening the organ system which is manifesting the allergic response.
If getting pregnant is not the problem, but staying pregnant is - there may be help for you in Oriental Medical treatment. Acupuncture points and herbal formulas have helped several of my patients carry a pregnancy to term after several miscarriages. While I usually see patients after several failed IVF attempts - and sometimes only just pre and post transfer - there are patients I see for other reasons and the miscarriage issue comes up as a matter of health during the intake or follow up treatment sessions.
Medical reasons for a miscarriage range from trauma and chromosomal abnormalities to "unknown" factors. An Oriental Medical diagnosis would be needed to confirm a cause of the "unknown" factors, but one reason for the lack of ability to maintain a pregnancy is "Spleen QI" deficiency. What this means is that the "spleen" system (not connected to the western concept of the spleen organ) has a responsibility for holding "things" in place. When this system is weak, the body does not have the strength to securely hold the developing fetus and a premature birth -miscarriage - results.
Acupuncture is the insertion of sterile, disposable, fine gauge needles into the body at specific points along the meridian known to be effective in the treatment of the diagnosed problem. A graduate from a four year program, with a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine, who passes the National Commission for Certification Boards, becomes a Licensed Acupuncturist L.

About 5 years ago, I was told that even though I had no problem conceiving and giving birth to my first child, I would not be able to have any more babies. I was told that my body had started going to go crazy due to stress that I was suffering through. I decided that I was going to give alternative medicine a try, as I had nothing to lose. All I will say is, Phyllis was so kind, and caring.

She worked with me on a weekly basis for almost a year. I gave the acupuncture a chance, and even tried the herbs. I am so happy that I did because I ended up getting pregnant, and giving birth to a beautiful baby girl. I am thankful for having found Phyllis.
