Our registered Cambridge Osteopath. Has been highly trained in multiple areas of clinical examination and diagnosis, osteopathy and physical exercise rehabilitation, for non-injury and sports injury rehabilitation.

Has over the years developed and enjoyed, a strong word of mouth referral system, from people who need a second opinion, a fresh – research informed approach.
Core Stability specific clinical exercise therapy training and progressive graded exercise provided by an osteopath for sports injury rehabilitation, has been proven to help core stability, trunk stability, force transfer, sports performance, abdominal muscle strength, diastasis recti management, post-surgical muscle reactivation and motor control, lumbar spine stability, increase physical expression, and help restore more normal spinal joint and associated muscle and tendon function.
The Dynamic Exercise Therapy Treatment is performed by dynamic training, a mixture of postures, motions and training patterns (dynamic treatment); with verbal and physical guidance, to elicit independent control. Helping encourage the body to return to better structure and function. With a primary focus on function over structure. Working to assist motor control and restore ideal functional postures.
This functional rehabilitation method / strategy’s aim is to activate the body’s natural inbuilt stabilization systems and was produced by a correlation of data from multiple therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, physical therapists, doctors, neurologists and scientists, in a team developed by the head of The School of Physiotherapy, Prof. Pavel Kolar, based at the Prague School of Rehabilitation.
Osteopaths treat using gentle soft tissue, mobilisation and manipulation techniques on the body; helping encourage the body to return to better structure and function.

The person as a whole is taken into account and therefore the osteopath will not only help reduce the symptoms you present with, but will also help to find out the reason they occurred and try to stop that reoccurring.

I have seen Michael various times over the years regarding various injuries/pain, he is very knowledgeable and always sets me on the path to rehabilitation while teaching me something about the functioning of my own body. He is also a lovely friendly guy, highly recommend!

I have been using Elementary Health services for 10 years now, to manage pain and dysfunction caused by a modern lifestyle (sitting / desk working). For me, having treatment is effective in the prevention of chronic migraine. Michael is exceptional in his field and whilst committed to CPD, his intuitive understanding of the human body is singular.

I'm grateful to receive not only treatment, but prescription exercise to take away. Michael's approach is considerate and encouraging but no nonsense, he is an advocate for taking responsibility in the care of our own body.

I have had ME for over 30 years and have been seeing Michael for the Perrin Technique. I have found Michael to be very thorough and professional but also very caring. He always answers any questions I have and discusses everything fully with me. I would recommend Michael to anyone!

I've been seeing Michael at elemental health for 10 months. I travel from Norwich to Cambridge for appointments as my health is worth the cost and effort. He has been treating me for CFS/ME and I'm well on the way to being very much improved. We work as a team effort. He provides me with Perrins Technique lymphatic drainage and osteopathic manipulations and then gives me recommendations and exercises to do at home.

I do my exercises, and self massage every day to get the best from his treatments. I have found Michael easy to work with as he is kind, sympathetic but expects me to do my bit! I've made lots of lifestyle changes to increase my health and Michael is intrinsic in my improvements. I thoughly recommend him.

I'd heartily recommend anyone to see Michael of Elementary Health. He has helped me with back pain, neck tension, headaches and antenatal postural support. He's also been instrumental with helping my 2 year old son work on physical development that he lacked from being a baby. Alongside our NHS physio treatment, Michael has supported us to correct his toe-waking and core deficiencies so he's running, skipping and climbing with his peers. I'd recommend Michael to any parent to get their baby/toddler checked so you can give them the very best start.

Don't hesitate to see Michael at Elementary Health. I've been seeing him on and off for several years, mainly for core strengthening, but having shielded through lockdowns I became more physically weak. 4 months ago saw Michael again and started with strengthening exercises. I have several joint replacements, fibromyalgia, osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, developed scoliosis in several parts of my spine and this year a nerve in my spine became trapped causing pain and numbness.

At my next appointment Michael suggested an MRI scan of my spine which my Rheumatology team organised for me and I forwarded the report, which showed the cause, to Michael. My exercises now are designed to support my whole body and straighten my spine. In addition to pain scoliosis caused a 2 inch height loss which I am now regaining at the age of 68! Michael's knowledge of the body is phenomenal, he is always professional but friendly and easy to talk to. Treatment is designed specifically for the problems of each patient, no 'one fits all'. I highly recommend him.

If you are disappointed and frustrated for having constant pain, despite of visiting numerous professionals, this is the place to go. After 24 years of back pain, the solid improvement I have experienced after seeing Michael is considerable. The treatment does not go without challenging exercises sometimes, however, following Michael Parr's advice and treatment have been the best gift to myself in one of the hardest year of all.

Michael Parr is an excellent Osteopath. I have been having treatments from Osteopaths for up to 30 years and Michael is in the top of his class. I really feel that the specific exercises Michael is working on with me to stop the progress of my scoliosis will be beneficial. It was amazing to me to see the photos that Michael takes while I am holding a specific pose that greatly corrects my scoliosis. My spine hasn't looked that straight in years! The goal is that in time, with on-going practice and work my curve will improve.

Michael is an excellent professional, very knowledgeable. He puts his interest in what you explain about the reasons that leads you to his consultation and applies the treatment accordingly, with great dedication, delicacy and efficiency. Highly recommended, I have noticed improvements since the first session.

I would definitely recommend Michael. He has been helping me with a lower back issue since December 2018, He started with an in depth assessment and since then has taught me various exercises to improve and strengthen my core, which has greatly reduced my back pain. In each session he is patient and very clear in his instructions in how to do the exercises. I feel at ease with him, he has a very professional manner and has built my confidence to manage my back health.

I was recommended Michael a few years ago and it was a Godsend! He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. I've suffered with M.E. for over five years now. I've tried many other therapies including acupuncture, reflexology, homeopathy, etc but nothing has helped - until I started being treated a year ago by Michael using 'The Perrin Technique' and I'm finally seeing positive results. Michael has great expertise with M.E. and is adept at explaining the condition and how the technique helps. He has a holistic approach to his treatment and so when a long standing leg/hip problem

Michael is very patiently helping me overcome a number of pain issues relating to poor muscle stability through both hands-on intervention and showing me how to use exercises to improve my core. His holistic practise is refreshing and highly effective, he's hugely professional and knowledgeable and I'd thoroughly recommend him.

Professional and talented Osteopath who works with you to not just alleviate short term issues (pain) but will support you on longer term recovery and rehabilitation programmes. Very knowledgeable helpful and a nice guy.

The difference with my experience with Michael compared with the variety of different services that I have used over the years is that I have I gained confidence in my back and my ability to fix myself. The basic treatment is excellent and I leave the clinic feeling like a new person. In addition the explanations about back care and the exercises that he has taught me have changed the way I view my back problems. The sessions do not seem rushed and Michael has time to explain the intricacies of the exercises that he patiently teaches me.

Michael is one of the good guys. Professionalism and understanding underpin his exceptional osteopathic talents. His holistic approach helped deal with the lung congestion I contracted every winter by freeing up my chest cavity; and has helped improve my core muscles and posture to recover from a condition which hit me six years ago. Highly recommended. His use of the Perrin technique also helped my wife combat ME and get her life back. Thanks Michael.

Michael is, in my opinion, the best Osteopath in Cambridge. Hugely Knowledgeable, empathetic and attentive. I had longstanding back pain which, with manipulation and graded exercises, has now gone. I highly recommend him.

I have had regular Osteopathy appointments with Michael, from Elementary Health, for a number of years following my first appointment after my lower back seized up. After my first appointment Michael implemented a gradual increase in time between appointments and I now see him every three months for what I call my "back maintenance." It is hard to put into words the complete service Michael offers as he certainly doesn't stop at only carrying out my "back maintenance".

He is very forthcoming with suggesting suitable strengthening and stability exercises and will offer advice and interesting discussion about the body and how it works. His knowledge in all of these areas is extremely competent and he clearly has a great desire to improve his own personal knowledge through external training. Michaels manner during appointments is as good as it gets.

I have never felt uncomfortable during an appointment and can imagine that he adapts this manner accordingly for each of his clients. If I was asked to recommend an Osteopath Michael would come very highly recommended.

I had lower back pain for almost 2 years after an injury from deadlifting with bad technique. I had been treated by another osteopath with no improvement. Then on recommendation from a friend I saw Michael. Previously I had experienced bad pain during the night that would sometimes keep me awake but after my first appointment I had complete relief for about a month. Just two more appointments and my back pain was gone completely. Would highly recommend Michael!

I have been treated for my ME by Michael for 6 years. His use of the Perrin Technique has transformed my life - to the extent that I have gone from having a very limited quality of life to now being able to enjoy a good social life and have even been able to have a baby daughter. This is something I know would never have been possible with the energy levels I had before my treatment started. I can't say how grateful I am for the gift of being able to have and look after my

Michael deserves far more than 5 stars! His knowledge and enthusism for his profession are exceptional and he always sorts me out when my ageing body starts to protest about the rigours of belly dancing and mad long-distance walking. Highly recommended! 5 stars

I started seeing Michael due to my ME/CFS and back problems. I see him regularly and keep in contact via emails between this. I have found Michael to have a wide knowledge base, and feel he has helped me more then offer professionals have (doctors, ME clinic). I feel that since my first visit, Michael has helped me improve at lot.

I am a triathlete and have completed a couple of Ironman races. I highly recommend Michael as a part of any training plan. He is an excellent osteopath with a detailed knowledge of how the body works. Not only is he able to unlock the inevitable kinks that occur during training, but he will also guide you through a set of exercises to build strength/stability that improve performance and reduce the chance of problems recurring.

A friend recommended Michael as the best osteopath ever, and I have to agree he is. He engages you and explains clearly what the problems are and what you can do to help yourself in addition to his treatments. Brilliant!
