Supatha YOGA and Personal Fitness The Supatha Yoga Method is uniquely inspired by Sri Lakshmi Devi's many years of comprehensive study of Anatomy and Physiology along with her broad training in Yoga Sciences as well as her extensive background and education in the Health and Fitness Industry.

Sri Devi describes her approach to yoga and Supatha's 1/4 series Flow as "well rounded with a note worthy touch of edginess to keep it grounded in reality." Her personal history through the path of Health and Healing evokes in Lakshmi the ability to encourage her students, to hold them to their commitments and to themselves with compassion; not judgement and an open heart.

Lakshmi expresses "I want to provide a joyful, nurturing, non-competitive space for students to embrace their practice, embrace themselves, grow, stretch and gain vitality...maybe laugh a little along the way. I'm here to teach, to share, to assist in their healing process. I strive to help actualize in my students their own process and paths to themselves.

Lakshmi greatest joy is working with children and adolescents; and feels that One of the greatest gifts you can give your child is the freedom to find their own sense of self... Her Just for Kidz, Story-time Yoga, Yoga Warrior's & Teen Empowerment classes were originally developed as an After School Program for Children who suffer from symptoms of ADD/ADHD, addictive behavior & the stressors of Peer Pressure.

Lakshmi's dedication to her practice manifests in over 8000hrs of study with 40+ years of practice including 27 years of teaching and hands on experience in the field of Yoga, Health & Fitness. A Senior Member of the International Yoga Association, Registered and Certified 200 and 500 hr. Yoga Therapist with Yoga Alliance. Lakshmi has be awarded numerous certifications in Exercise Physiology as well as certifications in Functional Anatomy of Movement from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Both in traumatic injury and debilitative illness.Formally INTEGRAL Yoga trained and certified under the skillful guidance of Sri Swami Satchidananda founder. An esteemed Spiritual Leader honored with the Albert Schweitzer Humanitarian Award; Dedicated his life to the cause of Peace, both Individual and Universal, and to religious harmony among all People. In 1991 Lakshmi embarked on her lifelong path of loving kindness with his Holiness the fourteenth Dali Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, with in-depth studies on Depression and Human Behavior.

A practicing Ordained Interfaith Minister, Reiki Master & Spiritual Coach, with foundational Eastern training in various methodologies of Yoga, including Sivananda, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Anusara and Viniyoga. Well versed in human behavior and applied psychology, Lakshmi is aspiring towards earning her Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology and Doctorate in Philosophy.

My Husband and I have been enjoying yoga classes at Supatha yoga for the last 5 months. Having no previous experience with yoga, we started with private classes and then joined a group class. From the beginning we always felt comfortable and welcomed. The instructor, Sri Lakshmi, has many years of experience and it shows. She explains the purpose of each pose and what muscles are being used. Her warm personality makes yoga fun! We thoroughly enjoy doing yoga as a couple and enthusiastically recommend Supatha Yoga.

Supatha Yoga with Lakshmi has been an enlightening experience! Her energy and charisma offers a special and unique touch to each yoga session. Her experience as a Yoga Instructor helps me better understand how each movement impacts my body. I am now a yoga enthusiast and look forward attending every week!

,M y husband and, I have been doing private yoga lessons with Lakskmi since the end of 2012, our bodies and mind set have change so much, she is a god sent, , this is the second 1/2 of our life, we now have the energy and desire to enjoy everyday Lakshmi is a very special person. not sure were we would be today without her. ( on the couch). I thank her every day. Namaste.

I strongly recommend Supatha Yoga and Lakshmi. I had been taking yoga classes at the Y and while I noticed a significant reduction in back pain I felt the yoga instructor was not instructive nor were the classes interesting. I found Supatha yoga and have been attending classes regularly for several years now. Lakshmi makes the practice fun yet she is very exacting in her instruction.

The class is always a bit different so I am never bored. She is extremely knowledgeable about the body and is watchful that you are learning and using proper alignment to avoid injury and obtain the most benefit from each pose. She is very instructive, encouraging and patient. She is very dedicated to her students. I enjoy both the vinyasa yoga class and the yogalates. It keeps me young, strong and flexible and is the best way to manage life's stress. The studio is beautifully decorated and is a peaceful place for rejuvenation.

Lakshmi of Supatha Yoga is the BEST instructor you could hope for! Not only is she expertly skilled in her teachings, but she is a very personable and knowledgable in all aspects associated with yoga and beyond. My 11 year old daughter has been attending her classes for over a year, and she is definitely a better person for it. Not only does my daughter benefit from Lakshmi's classes, she adores her as a teacher and friend. Lakshmi can improve anyone's life through her sessions, no matter what age. If you are looking for a caring instructor who truly knows what will work for you, then you need to experience one of Lakshmi's classes, and see for yourself!

After suffering severe paralysis due to a brain aneurysm I underwent many forms of therapy. Yoga with Lakshmi was the most well rounded full body experience. At first I was nervous, being newly handicapped, but Lakshmi makes me feel very comfortable and she is very knowledge about my injuries. I have gained much more movement in my paralyzed arm and leg. Classes with Lakshmi give me more confidences in myself and in my recovery.

I practice yoga with the Magnificent Lakshmi at Chelsea Piers in NYC..I have no actual words to express my feelings, so I'll just state the cold facts. She is a skilled master of her art. She watched me like a hawk (no fun) and gently and clearly made corrections. Her manner is open and caring and encouraging. This was the best Private session I have ever had and have practiced for many years. Lakshmi taught me how to balance using my whole foot.

The four (4) balancing points on each foot. This is huge for me because I have Flat Feet. This has affected how I walk & stand. I am standing taller and with much better balance. Also, my lower back feels much less stressed. I cannot say enough about Lakshmi.
