Avoid processed sugar and dairy - except eggs, please eat them - especially with runny yokes. Use olive oil and avoid oils that solidify when chilled. Then with the smile, you will feel better - then you will want to smile anyway. Then there are more beneficial chemicals. Increased oxygen and hydration with rest and optimism are critical.
Since pilates is core work, it tends to change us, improve us, strengthen us from the inside out. Over time, it tends to motivate us and to help us see a brighter, clearer intentional path to higher functioning on all levels. The beauty is in this efficiency. One part gets strong, one part stretches.

Wallis is a fabulous Pilates teacher! I have been taking classes with her for many years, and have seen a tremendous improvement in my strength, flexibility and posture. Wallis keeps the classes very small and tailors each exercise to the needs of her students. I always leave class feeling incredible with a smile on my face. I have taken Pilates at other places and nothing compares to Wallis and Studio 1 Pilates!

Wallis observes the way my body moves on any given day with such a keen eye. I get the maximum benefit from every workout. She's helped me to reset the way I walk and carry myself while working through each challenge that having Lyme Disease and old injuries brings my way. She's with me each step of the way back to health and wholeness. Don't know what I'd do without her!

I love Wallis and the work that she does. I went from being in so much pain that I could barely move along with not being able to feel my toes to a month of going to classes I was able to feel all my toes again. The pain is starting to subside and I now have a new hope that one day I will be able to go back to rock climbing, martial arts, and backpacking. I highly recommend her.

Wallis is an extraordinary Pilates teacher. Because of her background in dance and physical therapy, she is very knowledgeable and she tailors each exercise to the needs of her students. She focuses on strength and range of motion and musculo-skeletal integration. I always feel terrific after her classes. The classes are small so we each receive individual attention.
She also has a wonderful sense of humor and she keeps her classes lively, particularly as the movements become more difficult. I am a woman in my 60's with joint problems and I know that her Pilates training has made all the difference. I rarely have the pain I had before training with Wallis. I've explored classes with other teachers, and Wallis is the best.

I experienced significant improvement in my neck and back pain as well as with my sciatic nerve pain after just my first one on one Pilates session with Wallis. The studio is clean and quiet and Wallis is so patient and kind. I have tried many Yoga classes and other FAD exercise classes, but I learned more about my body and the proper movement than I ever could in a large group class. I'm looking forward to getting into a regular schedule of one on one for a while before I go into group classes at Studio 1.

If you've ever thought about taking a Pilates class or have tried other studios, think no more. After your very first session at Studio1 Pilates n Movement you will understand why so many of Wallis's students are devoted to attending classes, not just weekly, but several times a week. You will be amazed at the results and how better you feel after your first few sessions.
If you suffer from chronic lower back pain as I have for years, I can honestly say I have been pain free since I started attending classes two years ago. My balance and posture are greatly improved and I've been able to walk four miles a day with ease and enjoyment. You won't find a more knowledgeable and dedicated instructor than Wallis. One of her main concerns is to teach us to listen to our bodies and take control. Thank you Wallis for all that you do. Stephen P.
