Intermediate to advanced practice, The most challenging level, recommended for people who are ready to explore advanced variations of arm balances, inversions, jumpbacks, backbends and lotus. At this level the student will be familiar with principles of alignment and a wide range of asana. Assumes the student has ability to do Adho Mukha Vrksana (Hand Stand) at the wall and Urdhva Danurasana (Upward facing Bow/Wheel) with straight arms.
Energy balancing / Biodynamic Breath work For most of us, today's lifestyle and current events has accentuated mental & physical tensions, anxiety and sometimes seemingly insoluble problems at many levels such as interrelationships, economics, fear of diseases, creating severe dissociations. This workshop is an invitation to reach within the profound layers of your memory cells and emotional intelligence.

Fabulous yoga taught by insightful and knowledgeable teachers. No matter what your level, new to yoga or a decades long practitioner, you will learn something and feel "yoga refreshed" by these classes. The focus on alignment and insightful adjustments will lift your practice, and your heart. John Seelye is particularly gifted at providing smart, amazing adjustments, not to mention at providing insightful thoughts and themes for each class. Try it!

I have been a regular attendee at One Ocean Yoga for many years. Every single teacher is excellent and John Seelye the Founder is even able to tell if you are not breathing correctly and gives the most marvelous adjustments and yoga tips. Last year I did a pivot to Katherine Shapiro's zoom classes which I do on my patio at home, so convenient!
There are never more than 4 people and Katherine's classes are extremely enjoyable. She incorporates meditation at the end, each class has a variety of stretches and is always different. Although very challenging and a great work out her classes are balanced and end with a relaxing supported shoulder stand. I can not recommend highly enough both the new studio in Bridgehampton and Katherine's zoom classes. They got me through the pandemic. The zoom classes are very affordable in a class pack! Try it out you won't be sorry!

What distinguishes One Ocean Yoga is a consistent focus on alignment, correct and sustained form, activity ultimately releasing the full potential of each posture. This is further achieved through John Seelye's thorough understanding and experience, including clear and concise set ups, precise adjustments, which inspire personal confidence and breakthrough results-I couldn't be more pleased.

The location is spectacular. Uplifting. I loved Jessica Bellofatto's very crowded class. But Sylvia Channing was not in the same league. She kept checking her cellphone during class which I found distracting. Also the class had trouble following her cues. Don't bother calling because they never answer phones. I'd go back to Jessica's class, but not Sylvia's.
So I tried John Seelye's class. The issue wasn't his knowledge of yoga or instruction but the negative way he treats clients and other teachers. He scolded a client and one of the teachers in front of me and others. Maybe it was just an off day? But it's not conducive to creating a very positive energy envt.

I am a year round regular for classes at One Ocean Yoga. The setting is magnificent in an artist's studio during the winter and in a lovely open air tent in the summer where you look onto to a winery and sculpture garden. The classes are small enough that each student gets individual attention. All the teachers are excellent and you leave feeling like a new person.
There are various levels from advanced to restorative and new comers are always made welcome. John Seelye the main teacher has once spotted when my breathing was not slow enough and that is really paying attention to the student's progress. Highly recommended and there is a friendly atmosphere between all the students.

Wow. Wow! WOW! #1. DEFINITELY look at the photos of the space, it's incredibly beautiful (I could describe the set-up here in 10 paragraphs and it still wouldn't do justice to seeing it) #2. I attended the Reiki circle led by Karen Meyer (www.karenmmeyer.com) last night, and it was absolutely transformative. The session could have lasted 6 hours and I STILL would have wanted more. #3.
I will be coming back for the Reiki circle every Tuesday night for the rest of the summer, and am looking up One Ocean Yoga's yoga schedule right now to start classes asap. I'd give One Ocean Yoga 10 stars if I could!

Gorgeous studio located in Channing Daughters winery. In October, the practice takes place in the studio vs, tent during the summer. The studio is spacious, clean and has floor to ceiling windows that looks out on the vineyards. Even lovely and on a raining day. The studio has high ceilings with a sky light. It is equipped with high quality mats for borrow, neatly stacked blocks and blankets.
The cleaning spray for use is mix of lavender and tea tree oil, it smells great. I took a 5 class with John and there was only one other student in the class. John teaches level one (even if the class states, L1/2) and speaks a lot and slowly. He was very repetitive with 4 corner of toes and feet in the ground, it was very redundant. I am an advanced practitioner and John's class was redundant, slow and not very creative. I won't be returning unless it's summer, in a tent and with a different teacher.

One Ocean is in such a beautiful location! It's on the Channing Winery property, so when following GPS don't be afraid to pull into the winery and right before the building there's a little sign to the left that says Yoga. SO you turn left and then it's on the right hand side. I was greeted by John, filled out the form and entered a very clean studio.
He has all the props and as I'm visiting I had none of my own and it's important to be able to use clean items. For me, the class was perfect because this wasn't definitely wasn't 'showga" (defined as people attending class to see or be seen) Nor was it "factory yoga". (a studio to just make money with little instruction) John is a wonderful instructor, he gives healthy corrections without being intrusive, explains what were doing without being over talkative, and is so knowledgeable about the human body.
I haven't been practicing regularly so I'm being cautions and he is encouraging without being pushy. I attended a second class, and he was consistent in his instruction, kindness and knowledge. We did some partner work the second day and everyone was pleasant and we all benefited greatly from it. I'll be back to One Ocean Yoga every time I'm in the area!

Great atmosphere and positive class led by John. It was my first time to the studio and he was very attentive I felt. He gave adjustments and tips during our practice and was very easy to follow. The class was pretty light in terms rigor, but I think it was geared for the crowd who seemed to be regulars. I was probably the youngest person in the class at 32. Not a bad thing by any means, but I was hoping for something a little more challenging.

The current Butter Ln address is outdated. That will lead you to Physique 57 where you will try to sign up for a yoga class only to be told that you need socks and there are no mats. and to find out that this is a drill army class and not the flowy yoga class you envisioned. All sorts of fail But when you DO find the yoga studio which is currently outdoors under a tent in Channing Daughters Winery, it will be all the more wonderful.
The studio has Manduka Mats free for borrow, which is great! Normally, yoga studios have really thin, short mats so very appreciated. I took the lvl 2 Anasura class on Sunday morning with a super flexible teacher. Poses were just the right amount of tough. However, we are able to stay relatively cool (aka not dripping sweat but def. sweaty) due to the steady movement of air under the tent. It was overall a really pleasant experience. Practicing yoga while staring out into an open field with artfully arranged and created wood sculptures? YES and YES
