Dr. Hongjie Zhu earned her MD degree in 1983 from China's Shandong University of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). She was well trained in both Chinese and Western medicine. Before Dr Hongjie Zhu came to US, she had her medical practice in various hospitals. Dr. Hongjie Zhu came to the US in 1992.
Qi, pronounced "chee", means energy. You may see it spelled "Chi" or even "Ki" in Japanese, but they all carry the same meaning. Qi is the energy of the body. This energy flows through the body on channels known as meridians that connect all of our major organs. According to Chinese medical theory, illness arises when the cyclical flow of Qi in the meridians becomes unbalanced or is blocked.

I visited in February of 2020 looking for acupuncture (it has been shown to greatly improve a chronic condition I have. ) She diagnosed a completely different problem and prescribed one of her expensive homeopathic medicines. The carrier product (a commercial one from Germany) caused a severe allergic reaction for me. Her answer was to reduce the dosage.
Only when I stopped taking it completely ( I was losing trust in her judgement) did I realize that this "new" problem had indeed been cured, but she had not taken the step of checking on that before telling me to continue with a product that was giving me a bad reaction. The acupuncture treatment required many more needles that am used to, but she did not want to answer my questions about that, or even discuss it.
It was ineffective. I know that she has a grateful and excited group of patients who she has treated for infertility. And I am glad that she is able to help them. (This documented skill makes me give her 3 stars) I am writing this review to inform future patients that this provider appears to has a limited ability to listen and respond to patient concerns or unexpected outcomes.
She said that she is often a last resort for patients who do not find answers elsewhere. I have acupuncture as a first choice, and she was unable to give me much help. It was an expensive lesson.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Zhu! After 2 hospital stays, months and months of baffling my cardiologist and pulmonologist with the cause of my pleural effusion and pericarditis, I sought out treatment with Dr. Zhu after a referral from a very trusted associate. Her compassion and Healing skill are the only reason I am absolutely symptom and pain-free to this day!
In addition, after sharing this information with both my cardiologist and pulmonologist they were both very supportive of my decision to pursue this course of treatment. She has helped me with sciatica, menopause symptoms and countless other concerns. She has become my partner in the pursuit of whole body wellness!

I was experiencing daily headaches and tiredness and conventional medicine was not helping me. As a "last resort", I went to Dr. Zhu. She has helped me immensely! I will no longer think of acupuncture as a "last resort"! Dr. Zhu is very professional and very knowledgeable and I have great regard for her healing abilities.

My husband and I have struggled with different illnesses and issues over the years. We have seen a variety of different doctors and tried many different things. We started going to Dr. Zhu in July of this year and are both doing so much better. She has tremendous knowledge and ability and really listens to what you have to say about your history and symptoms to help make the correct choices in treatment. I would highly recommend her!

The worst doctor ever! Dr rip off. I was a patient very much looking forward to my first experience with accupuncture, trusted this doctor as a provider with painful information that I really NEEdED help with. She told me I was wrong, had inflammation (of course I do, I'm in severe mental and physical pain) tried to sell me on her line of expensive products, I started crying bc she wasn't addressing the problem I came in for. she then said my bad evergy was from a ghost.
I decided to leave then before she did any treatment and this terrible, uncaring doctor charged me 160$ for an office visit. I will never refer anyone to her. My husband is a doctor in Lake Mary and refers to accupuncturists regularly, we will be telling our patients to avoid this horrid woman and her terrible office and all the "ghosts" that reside there at all costs. I am furious and very upset. I was truly in need of treatment and she failed miserably. DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. This woman will rip you off and not care the least bit.

I have been a patient of Dr Zhu's for over a year now. Dr Zhu is amazing! She is very skilled and professional. I now feel the best I have in years. It is so important to stay healthy and Dr Zhu's acupuncture and herbs put me back on track. Dr Zhu's approach is to find the cause not treat the symptom - how refreshing in these days of throwing a pill at a problem. Any chance I get, I refer Dr Zhu knowing anyone I refer will be well cared for.

We went to Dr Zhu for my son with his allergic reaction. Before we visited many doctors for allergy and only antihistamine was prescribed. Which didn't help at all as usual nobody will treat the cause just to keep visiting doctors forever. Dr Zhu main believe is first to know what cause of the problem. With her professional and great knowledge that I hardly saw before she was able to find the cause of the allergy. With care and help and hospitality my son was cured completely and he is now back happily enjoying his life free from allergy. Thank you Dr Zhu for your help.

Very dissapointed. Was referred to Dr. Zhu and I referred my niece to her because she's been in serious pain from headaches which has lead to nausea and many days of school missed and she's not getting relief. The drs. office told my sister 11 am appt time and said they would email the patient forms. They never emailed forms. My sister shows up with my niece for 11 am and they said no that's 1 pm.
No apology. My sister said ok we need to go--she said that will be $150 for canceling an appt? WHAT? who Cancelled--they messed up. Then they proceeded to say if you try to come back we will charge that $150. Wow--WHAT A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT
