Hello, my name is Blake Wayson and I grew up right here in the Cedar Valley. I attended Luther College receiving a degree in Biology. I went on after Luther to attend the birthplace and fountainhead of Chiropractic, Palmer College in Davenport. We as Iowans are very lucky to have such a great school and the birthplace of the Chiropractic profession here in our own backyard.
I am thrilled to be working at Wayson Family Chiropractic! I love seeing how much of a difference the gonstead method makes in our patients lives, and the general piece of mind knowing that patients of all ages are in great hands with Dr. Blake, Dr. Thad, and Dr. Sara. Outside of work I spend lots of time working on our family farm, hanging out with friends and anything associated with being outside!
Our doctors are team Chiropractors for the University of Northern Iowa. During the football season Dr. Thad or Dr. Blake travel with the team and are on the sidelines in case Chiropractic is needed before, during, or after the game. Wayson Family Chiropractic also cares for other UNI, high school and area collegiate athletes from various sports including: mens and womens basketball, volleyball, swimming, soccer, and softball. Local high school athletes have also benefited from care, especially during their sport season.
By scheduling your first visit, you're taking an exciting step toward better health. Specific Chiropractic Care (See 'The Gonstead System' under the "Educate Yourself" link) is different, as it offers one of the best ways to get well & stay well in a timely fashion. So, there's hope. Our Doctors will use a very sensitive heat reading instrument, called a nervoscope, to detect any inflammation or heat changes caused by a misaligned vertebrae or an irritated spinal nerve.This instrument is not used to adjust, just one of the tools the doctor uses to specifically find YOUR problem area(s).

I don't think there is really anything that sets any chiropractor apart from any other chiropractor. They all do the same things. So since Wayson started charging if you miss your appointment, I have decided to take my chiropractor needs elsewhere. I would strongly advise if you plan to use this office to make sure you NEVER miss appointments. The only free pass they gave me was when my wife's grandmother passed away.
Otherwise you are charged $49 for missing your 10 minute appointment. I see your reply actually didn't address what I even said. I acknowledged that you gave me a free pass when my wife's grandmother passed away. But when I was given that free miss I was told that was a one time deal. That if I missed again it wouldn't be waived. So that is why I didn't even attempt to explain.
They also did not tell me that it only applied if I didn't reschedule. So I would say either you aren't being honest, or your receptionists aren't explaining things properly. So please let me know which one it is. I'd like to believe it was a simple mistake as between my wife and I we have given you a decent amount of business over the years. I think it would be a good idea to put a very clearly stipulated sign in your lobby stating your no show policy in verbatim so that there is no confusion.
Just a suggestion, you run your business how you want. But if you guys are running such full schedules, why would it hurt to let no shows slide. Even if you only kept half of your appointments that is still averaging $150/hr, which I guarantee you hold more than 50%. Sorry for dipping into your profit margin.

I have been going to Wayson Family Chiropractic for over 10 years now and I love what they have been able to do for me. I usually only have to go a few times a year and the last time I was there Dr. Sara worked her magic and I have been virtually pain free since then. I always enjoy my visits thanks to the friendly staff especially Shelby who is always smiling when I come in. Keep up the good work!

Dr Blake is exceptional and explains to you what the problem is and how he is going to fix it and then he fixes you, quickly. You will not have to wait in the waiting room, you will not have to wait for the doctor, and they will not try to get you to come in 2, 3, 4, or 5 times a week or a month. You let them know how you are feeling and you schedule how often and when you need to come in, no pressure, none, zero. This guy is a reputable practitioner.

They have a true desire to help their patients, even if it means looking for a non-chiropractic solution. My daughter started suddenly having headaches, which she had never had issues with before. Since the headaches persisted, I took her to the chiropractor, hoping that adjusting her neck would resolve the problem. After several adjustments that hadn't helped the headaches, Dr. Wayson took a closer look at her x-ray and saw some possible inflammation around her wisdom teeth, which he mentioned could be the cause of the headaches.
He recommended we ask our dentist if he thought she needed her wisdom teeth removed. The dentist agreed they needed to come out, and after her wisdom teeth were removed, the headaches immediately went away. I owe Dr. Wayson a huge thanks for thinking outside the box on this one to help my daughter and also save us an expensive referral we had scheduled to a neurologist at Mayo Clinic as our next course of action.
In addition, the chiropractic care at Wayson Family Chiropractic is also excellent. Adjustments are targeted to the problem area and very effective. We have visited them for several years when we have needed chiropractic care and always gotten relief from our pain.

Wayson Family Chiropractic is great. I never have trouble scheduling an appointment with one of the doctors. They always take the time to ask questions and review my chart. The entire staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I have recommended them to anyone that has mentioned chiropractic care to me. My wife, mom, sister, niece (since she was a baby), and grandma all go to Wayson Family Chiropractic. Highly recommended.
