Dr. Michael Renk was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Baldwin High School. He has been a chiropractic patient since the age of 14. He is also on the Logan College of Chiropractic Alumni Association. Dr. Renk is married to his wife, Jen and they have three children: Zachery, Taylor and Adam.
We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our clinical judgment and years of experience. Think of an adjustment as "tuning" a piano, adjusting each string so it produces the perfect tone.
If you've ever gone to a social event where you didn't know anyone, you know how uncomfortable that can make you feel. Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home. Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it's important that our relationship can go the distance.
New patients often remark how "homey" our practice is. That's good, because our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in a comfortable surrounding. So, make yourself at home! You'll find plenty of convenient parking and well-lit parking. You'll be greeted by name when you enter our practice and given a short tour to get you acquainted with our facilities.

I have been having horrible pain for two months in my jaw. Two dentists, two pcp visits, two chiropractor visits (to other chiropractors) two rounds of steroids, narcotics, and multiple other pain meds, he was able to take away most of my pain in one adjustment. Renk took the time to actually sit down and listen to my problem. He correctly diagnosed me and fixed most of my problems immediately. So thankful for this office for fixing my extreme pain.

Dr. Renk was fine, but his staff made me feel like a deadbeat. I switched jobs and, although I was automatically covered, my enrollment in my new insurance plan hadn't been processed yet. I explained that and promised to give my new health insurance information as soon as I had it. In the meantime, I got several nagging phone calls from Renk's staff asking if I had the information yet.
All Renk's staff seemed to care about was when they would get their money. After I received and relayed the information, one of Renk's staff called to tell me that the insurance company said they had no record of me, seeming to suggest that I was either lying or stupid. I confirmed my enrollment with HR and called Renk's office back to tell them to submit the claim.
It's not like I hadn't paid them a cent. I gave them $20 upfront each time I visited. After the insurance adjustment, I received a bill. The bill came on Saturday, I sent the payment on Monday, and got a call from the office about the bill on Tuesday! Not sure how I could have paid it any faster, unless I dropped it off personally. I really was put off by the aggressive, money-grubbing attitude of the staff, and the implication that I wasn't to be trusted to pay up!
I've worked with chiropractors who were much more patient, flexible, compassionate and understanding. For example, Dr. Timothy Schmitt of Wexford worked out a special fee structure with me when the insurance I had at that time charged an exorbitant co-pay. Schmitt's office is in a location that's no longer convenient for me, but I'd rather go out of my way than go back to an office where I was treated with suspicion and doubt.

Dr. Renk is the best! I never have to wait for an appointment and the adjustments are fantastic. My headaches are completely gone and my hips are pain free. The front desk girls are always so sweet and when i was switching insurances they worked with me to make sure everything went through okay. If you are looking for a great family chiropractor this is your guy! VERY family friendly.
