Jeannie Kelley, LMT, is a certified advanced Rolf and craniosacral practitioner who has been in private practice since 1986. Formerly, she was a personal trainer and exercise fitness instructor and has most recently lead therapeutic yoga classes, facilitated drum circles, guided meditation groups, and assisted and taught a variety of continuing education courses for bodyworkers.
Jeannie holds a B.A. in Transpersonal Psychology from Prescott College. In 1987, she graduated from the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in Tucson, Arizona where she specialized in sports massage. She then completed the basic training in Dr. Rolf's method in 1995, and in 2002 attained advanced certification - both from the Guild for Structural Integration in Boulder, Colorado.
Island Soma arrived at its current location in 2018 - a perfect space for reflection, introspection and healing. The exact spot actually found me. With windows looking out into green space and wildlife, it often feels like the quiet, serene sanctuary of the environment is invited in to be part of the session.
The Rolf Method of Structural Integration (S.I.) is a form of therapeutic bodywork that opens and aligns the body's connective tissue. Through massage-like techniques and interactive movement, this method re-educates the body and raises one's awareness about how to be in harmony within the field of gravity.
