Threw out my upper back so bad before work I couldn't physically get into my car, thankfully I was able to walk over to Dr. Kurt's office and he helped me get back into shape. Very nice and knowledgeable. I had never been to a chiropractor in my life before this, and it has been a good experience overall. The front receptionists are also friendly, efficient, and deserve a raise! :

You won't regret becoming a patient of Dr. Kurt's. I have been a patient of Dr. Kurt's for over 20 years and recently brought my son to him in the summer of 2021 for cranial sacral therapy. My son had just turned 2 and had recently received a developmental diagnosis. We have struggled with speech issues (significant delay), PT/mobility issues, and sleep issues.
We live in Des Moines and on the day of our first session, my son chattered and talked the entire drive home, something he never does. We stuck with our weekly sessions and saw drastic improvement in his speech, his sleep, and overall behavior and now we come regularly for 'tune ups'. Recently when I was encountering some imbalances of my own, I decided to see Dr. Kurt for a cranial sacral session.
Sure enough after 1 session, my issue resolved and my sleep drastically improved and now I am on my own regimen for cranial sacral therapy. Dr. Kurt has been a vital part of my life as a teen and resolving some of my own health issues. I worked for him when I was in college and learned a lot about chiropractic care in the short summer I worked with him.
Between my own health journey and my son's, Dr. Kurt has greatly impacted my personal philosophy on my medical practice now as I see patients and he has impacted my family's health for the better.

I had been going to another chiropractor off and on since I was 8, and needed adjusted and they had time to get me in while there with a friend. I had been struggling with bad lower back pain for the past year and my other chiropractor couldn't get me to adjust. At intake the do X-rays and he was able to see what was going on and just like that he got it all adjusted the pain I'd been in for a year was gone!
Yes I've had to do follow up care to keep it in place but it's healing I've noticed the decrease in pain I'm more active and able to play with all the kids again too! Hands down they won me over and are so friendly and kind and caring!

I have been going to Dr. Kurt for about 30 yrs. He helped me when I was working and pregnant with my second child. He always finds a way to fix all my pains in my body. Always accommodating to work with my schedule. My favorite part is the good conversation with Dr Kurt and his office girl. Especially during these covid times to gain knowledge about the virus and understand the mask mandates. Keep up the good job.

My husband and I are always treated as if we're your most important customers. You lead the way in customer service and show you care with the way you always manage to fit my husband in when his back starts causing him pain. Dr. Ver Helst is the only chiropractor that has the skill it takes to properly treat my husband. A God send after many other Dr.s could not provide relief to him

The staff was welcoming and laid back. I had my baby with me and that was no problem. After the first visit I was hopeful we would see success as the lain started to decrease. After the second visit we had a plan of action and the pain continued to decline. Also, I have never been able to get my neck to crack but Dr. Kurt was a pro. I think this in conjunction with exercise, stretching, and massage will be the key to getting my body to functioning correctly and pain free. I truly believe this was the missing piece and I am confident Dr. Kurt will get me where I need to be. I already am feeling relief after two visits!
