Nice place with varied offerings. and a very reasonably priced monthly pass. Only complaint is not great time options if you are looking for all levels yoga and work a 9-5. Their weekday all levels classes are often at 430 pm. Similar thing on weekends - only one all levels on Saturday. at 730 am. Meanwhile, they have two all levels on Sunday at fantastic times (1030 am and 545 pm), which is great, but it would be nice to have one of those more reasonable time slots pushed to Saturday!

This place is subdued, quiet, serious, aloof. There's a focus on the consumerist part of yoga, especially fancy gear and New Age paraphernalia. So it wasn't a good fit for me. I enjoy a friendly atmosphere where laughter is welcome, where people don't take themselves too seriously, and where they seem geniunely glad to see each other and to include strangers.
I also reject the spiritual component of yoga, so a place where that side of yoga is prominent or cannot be avoided does not work well for me. It also strikes me as strange, for a business that caters to customers who are likely to be mothers and grandmothers, that even very well-behaved, quiet children seem quite unwelcome here, both in the foyer and in the normal classes. The special children's classes we tried were more like activity classes and did not include much yoga content.

Jude Russell was an amazing yoga teacher that takes you back to basics of understanding yoga. Guiding me through movement and breath in each yoga pose. I feel so relaxed and refreshed after that intro to yoga class. Slowing it down from doing Power was just what my body needed. Thank you WHY Yoga and Jude.

Just moved to the area. Read all reviews and wanted to like this SO bad! Went and was unimpressed. Did the 30 days for $30 but I won't be finishing it. To be fair, in my previous city, we had a SUPERB yoga studio that I went to which offered aromatherapy at every class (incense). I may be yoga spoiled but this is my honest review: The good: it is a yoga studio that does yoga.
It meets this expectation so I gave it 3 Stars. They offer multiple classes at the same time (restorative vs. power) so that's nice. The bad: first, this place is filthy. There is visible dirt on the floor by 4:30pm classes and my mat was truly covers in dirt and dust. They need to clean their floors more often.like even a Swiffer? My allergies always acted up because of the dust which made it hard to focus on breathing, etc. Second, it smells. Again, I might be yoga spoiled but I'm used to incense to mask the "sweat" smell.
I actually bought essential oils for myself to use at this facility. Third, IMHO I also think the instructors in the power classes could offer more modifications for some poses. They offer a lot of "challenges" but I feel like they could do better with "if you have a bad knee." or "if your lower back is weak." I have a weak lower back that I'm strengthening through yoga but in the power I class, I never felt encouraged to modify to support my back, even though I did.
It made me feel isolated as a learner and like I didn't belong in the class even though the only other option was restorative/gentle yoga which wasn't what I wanted or needed. Bottom line: I will continue my yoga studio search and hope that Hartford has something better to offer than this. I really wanted to love it so I'm bummed.

I love this place for many reasons. I used to come here every week during the lunch hour yoga, the power hour. As a seasoned yoga instructor and a long time practitioner i naturally have a bit of discretion. I love the backbone of this place, perhaps its the owners vibe that filters into the entire place but i always feel at home here. Ive never had a bad class here.

This place is really nice! I always shied away from Yoga because of the classes I usually took at the gym were more focused on other things instead of the principles of yoga. At this studio, they truly believe in treating the person like a whole being, and encouraging you to listen to YOUR body and not to compete the people in the room around you.
I usually go to the heated classes (Hot or Power), but I have attended Gentle and All-Levels classes as well. If you've never done hot yoga before, I'd recommend Carissa's class as it's a great foundation into heated room yoga. She provides a ton of different variations and options for beginners and more advanced students alike. Every instructor has their own style of teaching. Linda's class is filled with wisdom, breathing, and meditation coupled with movement. Tony infuses humor in the yoga flow which is awesome when you've just had a stressful day at work.
If you like more intense classes, Nikki's Power class will have you leaving wet with sweat and feeling accomplished, empowered, and ready to take on the rest of the day. Overall, I'd highly recommend this yoga studio. It has a wonderful atmosphere and great classes.
