Herb Store

This is a great store to find alot of herbs and incense, bells, natural things.

I'm new to Yelp so I thought I'd start reviewing places I go to in my home town so this shop omg! You have to visit and expect to be there for a long time lol there's so much to look at all your spiritual and witchy supplies in 1 place

I love going to the Herb Store! My first visit was back in 1986! I haven't been in for awhile, so it was a treat to go in person again! What a solid store, with awesome, helpful people! I have never had a bad experience here. Everyone is always friendly and willing to help research if you need some answers. I am making my own skin care, and other natural products these days.

I am planning to buy more of my ingredients from this awesome LOCAL store! It was delightful to journey back in time and remember, when I first started my health practice, that I loved this place and now 36 years later, it is still going strong! The same location, and it has survived the pandemic that has taken out so many local favorite stores. Keep up the awesome work! I appreciate this business and will keep coming back!

I am non-binary and use they/them pronouns. The person who rang me up did not gender me at all in the sweetest and most intentional way possible, just by picking up on my gender ambiguous appearance. This is the best customer service experience I have ever had 10/10

I'm so excited that you guys are no longer requiring masks! Because of health reasons, I physically cannot wear a mask so I gave hundreds of dollars to other businesses that weren't as good. If freedom of choice continues then I'll be a customer for life! Thank you for allowing people like me back!

The staff at this store are toxic, they don't seem to understand customer service at all, and one staff member seems to be mentally unbalanced. luckily you can get everything they sell else where for a better price. Oh yeah they price gouge and charge more then any other place.

The helpful and knowledgeable staff always make this a favored place to visit of mine! Great selection and you can really tell they care!

First time going in because I saw a small Iron cauldron and I thought that would go perfect in my Harry Potter Collection. I love the store it self has a lot of nice herbs I might go back for! The store is very nice and clean. The person their was not paying attention and restocking or moving stuff around and did not ask if we need help with anything.

When she said hi and welcome in to us again I said oh we are ready to check out I don't feel like I said it rude but she kinda was rude coming to ring us up like I interrupted her from her work.

Love this place! Great selection of herbs, incense, and altar accessories. I purchased a bell for my altar, some prayer flags, and nag champa incense. They carry a wonderful array lf incenses, as well as some mortar and pestle sets. They also have cute candles, and essential oils. Wonderful shop!

The worst and most horrible experience. Bulk products ramped up to triple and quadruple price. To conceal and hide the over inflated prices they use a confusing measuring system and employees are trained to quickly rattle off gibberish explanations which avoid revealing the inflated per pound prices. The customer is then time pressured into buying leaving no time to calculate costs.

The sky high prices are buried under gibberish and a micro "unit" price system that makes it appear like you're not spending much money but you're really getting scammed. Employees are also trained to hold the bag upwards to make it look like your getting a whole lot, when your just getting less than 1/2 ounce. Finally they keep the labeled product away from the customer so they cannot review the pound cost before purchase and until it's too late.

Later I confronted the manager about this deception and her whole demeanor changed to a used car salesman attitude talking 100 MPH. The fast talk was meant to intimidate. She had the audacity to "blame" me, saying it was MY fault for not understanding! She spoke down to me like I was an idiot, deliberately misinterpeting my complaint to frustrate me and degrade my intelligence. Finally, with an air of superiority, she offered to give me credit minus 50% to cover the cost of business overhead! She took pleasure in seeing my outrage and gushed in glory of her evilness. The business is deceptive and corrupt, and management personnel are sick and demented.

LOVE this shop! Their selection of house-made salves is amazing. I tried the Eczema salve first and had nothing like this before. It is the perfect blend for my mildly dry, cracky hands. I was surprised by the topical herbs used to make it, but it's obviously good for a lot more than just eczema. So then I decided to try other salves. They're all unique and really well made, and less expensive than I would have thought. I was visiting from the PNW and came back several times during my short stay in Albuquerque. Had to get more of that eczema salve!

I own a business and sometimes have to use The Herb Store for supplies in a pinch. Watch out for items that have mismarked prices - I've found multiple errors when purchasing here. I also had an uncomfortable experience when a sales person lectured me about buying peppermint leaf when I was 6 months pregnant - the sales person almost wouldn't sell it to me.

In addition to the behavior being bizarre/inappropriate, peppermint is completely fine during pregnancy. Two stars because they have a good variety of products. Customer service and overall organization could be improved.

I worked as a medicine maker here years ago when Amara owned it. It has always had a really weird vibe and seems to attract unstable owners and staff. I moved home about 3 years ago and decided to give the herb store a visit. The staff I interacted with were bizzar, the manager or owner was down right aggressive and nasty. Its so not a healing place.

Its too bad we don't have a better place to go for herbs. Until someone opens another apothecary in Albuquerque ill be ordering my herbal products online. I wouldn't spend a cent here.

From when Amara owned this place to now the people who run The Herb store are pretty toxic. I had my final nasty experience with a gem of a woman here last year and I will never be coming back. How do you run a store for healing and be sooo angry and Toxic! I was treated so rudely by whomever was in charge, the only reason this store is still open is because Albuquerque is small and there isn't another herb store as big.

Red Root Acupuncture has a good selection of herbs, so does Abitas herbary if its still around. Id honestly rather order my herbs online then give this place a dollar. Its a shame. Someone should start another business that sells common herbs so there are better local options.

My all time favorite for anything herb related. The staff is knowable and helpful. I used to shop online for specialty item that I thought that I was challenged to find locally until I walked into this shop, wow! I love it when I can support local businesses. They have raw honey with the zip code, now that is awesome!

Incredible collections and amazing herbs. The staff is always helpful and they never make me feel silly when I ask strange questions. This is an untapped secret. I have literally bought 2 newer books on using herbs so I can get more in touch with this side of nature. Support local businesses and choke out big pharma! These stores could change the world if we paid more attention.

The staff like I already said is amazing and helpful and knowledgeable. The collections of thing for purchase range from herbs and powders to incense and little figurines. There is just no way to describe it all. You'll just have to go see for yourself. I love it; hope you will too!

I lived in Albuquerque for ten years and I loved going into the Herb Store. I live in another state now and I still order from them. They are my favorite. There is something magical about that place and their herbs are divine!

Love love love this place. amazing selection of herbs and love their herb mixes, such as pregnancy tea, beautiful skin, happy tea and sensual tea. They carry just about anything your looking for holistically. beauty products, sage, empty bottles, tins to make your own salves and balms. Check them out.you won't be disappointed. I visit this place regularly.

Rude people, no customer service. The manager smelled of alcohol after lunch. don't go there

I absolutely love The Herb Store. The staff are so helpful and informative, and their products are phenomenal. You can pick up individual herbs to make teas, sachets, brews, as well as premade tea mixes. My personal favorites are the allergy tea, cold season tea (REALLY DOES WONDERS - I get sick constantly as a teacher), and the happy tea. They have a wide variety of other items like essential oils, bath and body care products, and rollerballs. Check them out!

They have an amazing selection of herbs and other natural products and a really great and knowledgeable staff. I wouldn't shop anywhere else!

Wow! What a great experience! And quick too! I just landed in Abq from San Francisco and got a bad cold. Found this place on yelp and went for it. They have extensive selection of herbs in forms of tea, tinctures and more. Adorable read-headed Tara immediately helped me with a few things. She was super informative and had a great energy! In less than 5 minutes I was out of the store with everything I need and a big smile because of Tara :-) I hope we'll become friends. Oh, she even told me that they ship their stuff :-) They definitely know what they are doing. Absolutely recommend!

I must repent for my somewhat scathing, sarcastic review from many months back. Where I singled out the hippies that are regulars here and the paradox of their seemingly low-budget lifestyle and affinity for such an expensive shop, I've come around to seeing the light. That old adage, "You get what you pay for, " rings true here. Products may be pricey, but you're getting some great, healthy stuff that will make your life better. Products here are unadulterated, corporate-free, and of the earth. What's not to like?

I enter the store and inhale deeply. Strong scents of herbs, soap and incense mingle to produce a clean, healing, aromatic elixir. The staff is professional and knowledgeable, prepared to take on a new disciple into the arcane world of the apothecary. The Herb Store has been in Albuquerque almost as long as I have. I love to walk into the store when it's busy.

Even though it necessitates having to navigate the small space at closer contact with unfamiliar humans than I am generally comfortable, it reassures me that one of my favorite places in Nob Hill is here to stay. Before you visit Dean and Deluca/GNC/Sephora/Whole Foods, or any other number of corporate enterprises, you should check out The Herb Store.

Found this store using a Groupon and glad I did. It is small, filled with interesting items including just about any herb imaginable. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, energetic without being pushy.
