Offered in 8 weekends or a 1-month intensive, LEVEL 1 is designed for beginners who want to learn the history and foundations of yoga, with a focus on Ashtanga and Larry Schultz's Rocket. You will learn how to instruct the Modified Primary Series (MPS), which consists of 34 poses plus finishing series.
The Rocket routine was created by Larry Schultz and named by Bobby Weir of the Grateful Dead. Larry Schultz combined first, second and third series of Ashtanga Yoga and sequenced the poses around the joints of the body. It encourages play and offers modifications of traditional poses. The Rocket has roots in the Bay area where Larry ran his studio It's Yoga for over 15 years and made The Rocket available to the masses.
To meet the demands of modern day life some routines can be done is as little as 20 minutes while others can take up to 120 minutes. In addition to traditional yoga poses we've incorporated more cross training to improve your strength and deep stretches to improve your flexibility in the asanas. The Rocket is the purest form of Yoga Bootcamp.
Yoga ah AS CREATED BY AMBER GEAN was granted under Larry Schultz to lead Rocket Yoga Teacher Training. Our Rocket Yoga Training is recognized at the 500 hour level by The Yoga Alliance Professionals United Kingdom. When I became serious about my dream to become a yoga instructor I found yogaah and Amber. I contacted her with my excitement, because of the level of tradition in the yoga practice. Struggling financially she opened up the opportunity to trade to help with my payments. I finished my training feeling amazing about myself, Amber is super supportive to everyone in her path.
Our goal was function over form and learning to have patience with my body and mind. I also had the opportunity to go to Costa Rica for my rocket training, 7 days of surfing, yoga, food and fun. Amazing studio, amazing women, amazing staff. :

I had a great experience with the class itself and yoga instructor Hope! As somebody who has only done yoga a few times I was a little hesitant about it. It turned out to be wonderful! I felt comfortable with the instructions Hope was giving and it was a very uplifting and relaxing environment. I will definitely be back and recommend this studio and instructor!

Dont come here if you're a beginner. I'm an advanced practitioner and a teacher but I brought my teenage daughter to try and get here into yoga and took a class that was described on their website as beginner friendly but the teacher did absolutely nothing but call out the poses at a fast pace with no modification suggestions or alignment cues whatsoever.
She also was calling out advanced positions like half lotus, warrior three without blocks and reverse trikoasana on the fly. I tried to help my daughter as much as I could without disrupting class because of course being new to yoga she was just trying to force her leg into lotus and do these advanced twists. The instructor said after class that too mamy alignment cues can be disrupting for a beginner but there's a big difference between no cues and just a few and if a class is supposed to be beginner friendly it needs cues and modifications and not whipping in and out advanced poses. Its unsafe and you can injure yourself. My daughter left feeling bad about herself saying she couldn't do yoga. Just not a good studio for beginners.

An excellent yoga center located in the heart of Northside! Much love and gratitude to this yoga studio and teachers. After all the years of practicing yoga, I always bring myself back to what I've learned with Amber and her classes. I always feel completely refreshed and renewed after the classes. The great vibes also keep you coming back for more!

Yoga Ah is a great studio filled with experience and knowledge! I have learned so much from going here! It is a fun filled environment that is also challenging and allows you to break through your own walls. Yoga Ah is great for developing your personal practice and the loyalty and consistency of those who attend classes displays this. Highly recommend

My only real gripe is the pre-class experience. I am used to getting to a yoga studio early to set up my mat and just take the time to center myself. With this studio, the teacher often arrives just a few moments before class is set to begin. I was not previously warned of this, so I had arranged time to get there early just to sit around and wait.
Once the class actually started, I thoroughly enjoyed Amber's teaching style. It is hard not to love her passion towards the Rocket system. Well, it is hard not to love the Rocket! It is a genuinely fun practice. I left with my spirit feeling lighter and like I had worked every muscle in my body. I will say that the Rocket is probably best suited for someone who already has yoga experience under their belt. I would recommend taking a beginner's class or getting some general Ashtanga classes to get an idea on alignment and whatnot.

I began my yoga journey at the beautiful Yoga Ah about 4 years ago. When I met Amber, the owner and founder of Yoga Ah, I knew right away I was in the right space. She was welcoming and friendly & right away I saw the light & compassion she holds for all her students. I was immediately intrigued by the Rocket Yoga community she had developed and wanted to learn more about yoga.
After taking yoga classes there I decided to take the 200 hour YTT course. One of her first lessons was to live in the question, to have no expectations, which I loved. She taught me so much about the mechanics of yoga and introduced me to the traditional method of Ashtanga yoga and how Larry Schultz (Ambers teacher) created The Rocket based off of ashtanga. Amber has given me the confidence to instruct yoga classes and believe in myself.
I know that no matter what happens, the practice will always be there. Thank you Amber Gean! Yoga Ah has my heart. It's a great place to begin if you are a beginner or advanced practioner!

I took my 200hr teacher training here and the whole experience taught me way more than I could've expected. (Although one of the first lessons was to not expect anything);) Amber has a really relaxed and friendly approach to teaching students how to teach others.and just in her classes in general--probably because she's been doing it for so long! I really suggest Yoga Ah if you're looking for an authentic, traditional yoga studio in Cincinnati.
Great for advanced practices and beginners just the same. The space is also wonderful and intimate! If you're new to yoga and thinking about trying it just do it. I could go on.

I took a Rocket Teacher Training course with Amber Gean at Yoga ah! and absolutely loved it. Amber was welcoming, encouraging, and enthusiastic about Rocket and really figured out who we were (as students) and what we needed to progress. I appreciated her deep knowledge and extensive experience with yoga, especially Rocket yoga. She really responds to her students and provides awesome adjustments and suggestions. I thought the class was worth it and I look forward to going back to her studio for another class soon!

Upon walking into Yoga ah for the first time, I found a very inviting atmosphere with tons of space and a wonderful teacher. I found this studio to have a strong sense of community, seeing repeat yogis week in and week out. I ended up taking my 200 hour teacher training here with Amber and loved the class. We had several workshops offered to us throughout the training which was an awesome experience. Going to Yoga ah will not be a disappointment, you will be immediately welcomed by all of the friendly yogis and teachers and will be encouraged and helped throughout your yoga journey! Namaste!

Very nice place! I am taking my Teacher training class here and it has made me a better yogi! Amber is awesome and really takes her time with her students. I have come a long way since coming to the studio back in October and I couldn't ask for a better studio that really opens the door to really connecting with your practice and self

I came to Yoga Ah in hopes of just learning to be an instructor; but I found that I learned myself. When I say this, not trying to sound cliche (lol), I mean I found out my strengths, and I also found my weaknesses. I learned to embrace my weaknesses and to practice to make them better, and I worked on improving my strengths. Amber is a really awesome teacher. She is very patient and passionate about teaching and her students. This is by far the best yoga studio I have been to!

I LOVE this studio. I took my teacher training here and it could not have been a better experience. I love the teachers and Amber really takes her trainers under her wing to make sure they get a very comprehensive training. I love the ambiance of the studio, and you will be amazed with the rich lineage and space this studio has to offer. It is very inviting and warm, offering support and kindness.

Yoga ah was my first foray back into the Yoga world. I highly recommend the Bottle Rocket class. However, the Yoga Instructors are not particularly understanding of Beginners. My first class back I was mocked a little by the teacher, luckily I took it as constructive criticism. I would recommend this studio for someone that is at least Intermediate level and looking for somewhere with small class sizes.

Not for beginners. I began yoga about 18 months ago as a total beginner and still am a lower level. I started at another studio and was very pleased with the attention to proper breathing, form, etc. in the beginner classes. I came to Yoga Ah to pick up another class weekly, They had a Beginner class that would fit into my work schedule. While it's a great studio and class for experienced students, it is NOT a beginner class in either pace or level instruction.
I would hate for anyone just beginning yoga to have this as their initial experience. I'm afraid they would be discouraged and not come back. If you're truly a beginner, look somewhere else. Otherwise I'm sure it's just fine; the regulars seem to enjoy it.

Yoga ah is an awesome little yoga studio in the Northside neighborhood of Cincinnati. It's on the second floor above Slims restaurant. It's about 10 minutes from downtown--in traffic. The studio's owner Amber teaches the Ashtanga-based "Rocket" series, which is basically yoga on steroids and speed. You get all the discipline of the ashtanga primary and secondary series postures, but in a compressed format, which all adds up to fun, fun, fun.
There are other classes too that integrate yogis at all levels. One of the other benefits of learning from Amber is that she's a yoga teacher teacher. She's been teaching yogis how to become instructors for years.
