Our practitioners are all Licensed Acupuncturists, certified and licensed in Acupuncture and Herbology by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine NCCAOM, and the State of Alaska. Rande has been practicing Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine since 2000 after graduating from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She has over twenty five years knowledge as a Registered Nurse.

Adjunctive therapies may include cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, electrical acupuncture, herbal medicine. Recommendations to lifestyle, diet, and movement therapy are also in the scope of practice for an Acupuncturist. Acupuncture works by activating the body's own healing powers, so it can be beneficial for many health conditions. The World Health Organization (WHO) has documented many symptoms, diseases, and conditions that have been shown in controlled clinical trials to be effectively treated with acupuncture.
I practice Japanese style Acupuncture based in a solid emphasis of palpation techniques, it's painless and gentle but so very effective. Using careful location and stimulation of appropriate points to allow immediate changes in the Qi and return of health. A skilled, touch-based diagnosis helps to give patients individualized care and treatment.
Acupuncture is about Qi, your vital energy. The smooth flow of Qi equals the maximized healing ability of the body. If it is low and not warm enough, the health will decline. Acupuncture raises your Qi and promotes longevity. Most patients report they feel very minimal needling sensation, become very relaxed and may even fall asleep during treatment.
Payment for services are due at the time of service; Your co-insurance payment is also due at the time of service. We accept credit cards and personal checks. Alpenglow Acupuncture aims to provide each patient with the best quality and care in a timely manner. Cancellations, late arrivals and no-shows are an inconvenience for all involved.

Rande at Alpenglow Acupuncture now has my husband singing the praises of both her and the work. No small feat let me tell you! I work as a health coach and am always looking for health care providers I can sincerely recommend to my clients. Rande is one of those of providers. I love that she has a nursing background and is serious and dedicated to her continuing education.

I have been seeing Rande at Alpenglow Acupuncture since its inception. I first saw her for help with my summer hay fever allergies that would normally leave me incapacitated every June and July, even with all the best drugs that western medicine could deliver. After a visit to Rande, I'd be able to breathe again through my nose. She has also helped me with relief from back, shoulder, and neck pain. I always leave Alpenglow feeling much better than when I walked in and I always recommend Rande to my friends who might benefit from acupuncture treatment.

I called this acupuncture clinic to ask about treatment options and coverage (they were listed on my insurance provider's website as a preferred clinic). The clinic told me what it would cost without insurance and I told them it was more than I could afford at that time. They said they understood and would check on my insurance coverage for me and let me know, so I gave them all my info and left them to it.
When I didn't get a call back, I didn't think much of it (I was busy.lots of medical stuff going on) and assumed all was okay. I showed up for my appointment and they had me complete all their forms, but said nothing about any lack of coverage. As soon as I finished with my appointment, the front desk person informed me that my insurance wasn't going to cover anything and I had to pay the originally quoted price (the same amount that I told them I couldn't afford.it included a large "new patient" fee in addition to the treatment amount).
They clearly knew this before my appointment and just neglected to tell me. When I told them about my previous phone conversation with their staff, their response was "we don't know who you spoke with" and "we've had a lot of turnover recently" (in less than 2 weeks since making the appointment? Really?) and blamed me for not calling my insurance directly. I left feeling totally scammed and broke (down about 5 weeks' worth of grocery money).

I have to say that the practitioners that I have had at Alpenglow are professional and skilled in their talents; from masseuses to acupuncturists. Todd is particularly skilled and he is the one I go to when needing some healing via acupuncture and zero balancing. I have also had massages with Stephanie and two other masseuses, and they were all exceptional!

I was having headaches for months and I decided to try Accupuncture for the first time. It was an amazing experience, Acasia (who no longer works there, she moved away) was so detailed and thorough with my health history. I left feeling relaxed and headache free! I didn't have any headaches for months after. I had being going to chiro for my headaches bimonthly and it just was cutting it anymore. I love this place, it's very inviting and the receptionist is very sweet and accommodating every time I speak with her. Highly recommended!
