I'd like to share with you why I am humbled and honored to be part of each one of my patient's journey towards optimal health. As a child, I was frequently surrounded by people suffering from chronic disease. On both my mother's and father's side of the family, I was exposed to illness and early death.
Naturopathic Medicine is based upon a philosophy that recognizes inherent wisdom in nature and human beings. While many of us are conditioned to take a pill to alleviate a symptom, this approach does not always lead one back to health. Naturopathic physicians strive to determine underlying factors that lead to signs and symptoms rather than erase these important clues with strong agents. When your doctor is a licensed Naturopathic doctor, you can expect a consultation that assesses and values all aspects of well being.
As a graduate of National University of Natural Medicine's 6-year, dual degree Doctorate in Naturopathic medicine and Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, Dr. Tighe focuses on nutrition, biochemistry, herbal medicine, energetic modalities, hydrotherapy and mind-body practices in order to assist individuals to not only overcome ailments and disease, but also to restore normal physiological function in the body to achieve optimal energy, mood, sleep, hormonal balance, stress response and resilience to infectious disease while preventing chronic disease such as cancer, autoimmune or neurological disease.
A: The first visit lasts one and a half hours. During this time the doctor will take a detailed history of your health concerns. They may use Chinese medicine diagnostic tools such as tongue and pulse diagnosis to get a more clear picture of your current health. They will spend time explaining the overall goals of natural medicine, which center around treating the underlying condition and restoring physiology. The doctor will then explain their assessment, which summarizes the center of gravity of your ailments and explains how to begin treating you.

Dr Tighe is wonderful! I went for an initial fertility consult and it align with the recommendations was well worth the investment. Her knowledge in this subject is extensive and her confidence in the process really rubs off. I've been going weekly for acupuncture and notice the effects right away. Ive been to one other acupuncturist and didn't really feel anything. I highly recommend Dr. Tighe!
